  1. Sorry to continue this conversation from the other board. In reference to the ECS/APR car. ECS is a great shop located up by cleveland. Done business with them and I'm a satisfied customer. APR and GIAC are the two big names in Audi Tuning and the only companies that I'd have tune my car. However my .02 is......while GT28 equipped A4's are a rip (300+hp territory)...they also tend to be fragile as they really push the envelope for power that the 1.8T will handle while still being reliable. 6. Ha...this one made me laugh...cause I did it to listen to your car a couple months back on Polaris. ....If your wife completely understands that a full detail includes putting the car on jackstands and removing all of the wheels in order to properly clean the suspension and other bits that nobody can see when the wheels are put back on.
  7. The track aspect is what really worries me too. BUT the factory hollow spoke turbo twist wheels retail for nearly $1000 each. Even used ones in crappy condition usually go for around $1500 a set. If i can get them cheap I might just do it knowing worst case scenerio I'd have to find one extra wheel down the road.
  8. I'm looking at this set of wheels as possible track wheels for the 996 but the damage to the one rear looks like it May not be repairable. I suppose it's a good sign that he drove on them like this for a month with no problems. If anyone has first hand experience with fixing a wheel with damage like this and how it's held up I'd appreciate feedback. please don't mind the blingy chrome...if I get them they're gonna be spray bombed black anyhow. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/18-Porsche-Chrome-Hollow-Spoke-Turbo-Rims-Tires_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ66484QQihZ016QQitemZ260072793818QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW
  9. Lots of drama surrounding this kit...still not to market but here's the prototype kit on an E46 M3. Supposedly the company is having issues with getting the car to actually run on anything other than race gas at this point...oh and the kit is $16,000. All of that aside it's still pretty impressive considering the car is otherwise bone stock...not even an exhaust on it. Side note: who in their right mind puts a TH400 tanny in a supra? In doing the highway rolls in this video the supra completely runs out of gear. Non-overdrive in that car completely kills it for me. enjoy. Andy
  10. I never asked the cosignment rates. Most of their inventory was cosignment when they first started selling cars while the built their inventory and I think most of the cars are owned by them now so I'm not 100% sure if they're still doing cosignment or not...but as I think about it there was an S4 up there recently that was on cosignment so I'm sure they will. I can talk to Chip or Tim and find out if you'd like. Andy
  11. Yes they take trades...and they're probably the most likely of anyone in town to understand what the value of the car should be...but that still doesn't guarantee they'll offer anything more than anyone else. They do cosignment sales as well...might be a good way to get the car a little more exposure to the right crowd.
  12. +1 Guy I work with goes twice a week to this place and likes it. Not my crowd though so I've never been.
  13. agreed..my '01 Gixxer 1k made 145 dead stock nearly 6 years ago now.
  14. The Mrs. and I are going to be at BOMA as well...we called right after they took the reservation for the last table though which sucks. I might stop up and say hello. Andy
  15. John, Congrats man. Don't sweat all of the mini-van comments. Marriage to the right person is the greatest thing I've experienced thus far in life. Enjoy this time and take everything in...it only gets better from here. Andy
  16. Snow tires on the M3 work in a similar fashion. At least it makes driving on the darn snows entertaining.
  17. **Update** sorry I havn't paid too much attention to this post. All of my cars are no longer for sale. We for fortunate enough to get my mother back on her feet without the need to eliminate any of the toys. Thanks again to all of you for the interest and for the kind words for my family in our time of loss over the last couple of months. Happy motoring. Andy
  18. They'll be available through the end of this week (12/22). I can drop one in the mail as soon as I recieve payment. PM me for further details as I know you're a couple hours away.
  19. I used to do everything by hand until I had proper training and practice with machines. Now I primarily use a random ortibal buffer for swirl / defect removal and a Rotary buffer when it's necessary for heavy defect removal.

  21. Nah...that was a bit of a joke...somehow the simple wash he wanted help with turned into a full detail.
  22. Well...it'll be my future track car if my brother ever decides to sell the thing to me. He came over for a "simple wash" Monday night and 5 hours later these are the results. Didn't turn out too bad for a 12 yr old car. First time in the year he's owned it that I've had time to do any work on it so it's still not perfect but damn good for a car of it's age. http://www.autopia.org/gallery/data/500/953.jpg http://www.autopia.org/gallery/data/500/9510.jpg http://www.autopia.org/gallery/data/500/9518.jpg http://www.autopia.org/gallery/data/500/9533.jpg http://www.autopia.org/gallery/data/500/9527.jpg http://www.autopia.org/gallery/data/500/955.jpg http://www.autopia.org/gallery/data/500/9517.jpg http://www.autopia.org/gallery/data/500/9520.jpg http://www.autopia.org/gallery/data/500/9531.jpg Andy

  24. Bump for attention. Even if you're thinking about a detail in the spring might be a good idea to purchase a gift certificate for yourself to get a small discount on future services. Happy Holidays. Andy
  25. While I agree with this and I've even followed this mentality somewhat with my last two vehicles I have a feeling that there will never be a car that's mass produced that I won't find some means of needing to mod...specifically when it comes to suspension. I just have very different tastes than what the US market will allow. My philosophy on the last two cars is don't mod anything that can't easily be undone. That way I can put the cars back to stock to sell them. Andy
