  1. +1 In the past they've only shown a few rounds from each season mainly the highlights like the Gold Coast event with guest drivers and the Bathurst round at that crazy-ass track through the hills. This season though they showed the whole season start to finish and it was great entertainment. Kinda depressed that the last round was just televised yesterday and there will be no more. It's outstanding racing.
  2. I think the Grey is pretty hot, I really like some of Subaru's metallic colors, however I still voted white since it's a daily.
  3. Slammed Miata or Volvo 240 wagon. http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4144/5117887756_1974f97cc5_b.jpg http://img51.imageshack.us/img51/4686/245copy1.jpg
  4. Here's my suggestion. When you get around the West Palm Beach area jog over to A1A and drive A1A as far south as you can. There's alot of great scenery that's well worth it if you're out to see the sights in Florida. Ft. Lauderdale is a good place for a first stop to get out and see the sights. They have a pretty good beach front. There's soo many places you could stop along the way for it's almost impossible to list them all. Internet is your friend here. Then, if it were me, I'd plan on spending an evening in Miami. Oceanfront Blvd is something that just has to be experienced and again the beaches in Miami are kicking almost all the time. Not the nicest beach I've ever been to but great atmosphere. If you like the club scene at all then get all did up and go stand in line for one of the big clubs (Mansion is a good start then maybe late night at Space). There's nothing quite like the NY or Miami club scene. Next day sleep off the party then head down to the keys. Again great drive all the way down. Islamarada is a good place to stop and take a look around and it's about the 1/2 way point to Key West. We got married in Islamarada at a place called Cheeca Lodge (http://www.cheeca.com). Stop in and tell them you want a property tour or something, it's a pretty cool place. Key west was cool for me for like a couple of hours then I got bored with it though so I'm not much help there. Andy
  5. Props Sir...we got 22 posts into this thread before anyone actually thought about the poor tenant that was living there.
  6. IDK, Similar thing happened to the house 2 doors down from us just a few weeks ago. Renters living there, they actually left a cigarette butt simmering outside on the back patio which ended up causing shrubs to catch fire behind the house and the fire spread inside. ...BUT the fire didn't do enough damage to completely write off the house, so the homeowners no longer have income from the renters AND are stuck with a house that can't sell nor rent while the repairs are being done. They're going to sell instead of rent again when all of this is finished but the damage was extensive enough that they're tearing the roof off the home right now because structural members in got damaged and need replaced. They're not optimistic of an easy sale when this is all said and done either.
  7. For the cheaper alternative I think you'd have less headaches going with the unit that's made out of a cheaper material but still has good fit. Nothing worse than parts that don't quite fit correctly.
  8. I was able to stream a full HDx quality movie through wireless without issues last night. So far soo good.
  9. Sooo...you guys made a very good point. When we built our house we had a few ports built into locations that we thought we would want them but I guess never considered that the TV would be one of them. As I started to really think about how the project would progress I decided just to go buy the wireless adapter for the TV so that It can get it's signal through Wifi instead. I do appreciate the help though. Andy
  10. Do they sell the tool for the ends as well. That's kinda the route I prefer if the price isn't horrible
  11. I need to run a hard line from the router in my basement to my great room. I see lengths up to 50' in most retail stores but I"m not certain that's enough for what i need. Might be but it'll be cutting it close. Is there anywhere locally where I can find longer lengths of cable? Andy
  12. free bump...this is Matt's old car correct?
  13. I can't get over how sharp that car reall is. Something about the lines and the way it flows just does it for me. +70 for the debadge. I'd probably leave the Hyundai symbol on the back and get rid of the rest including the front.
  14. Check these guys out (http://www.theretrofitsource.com). Great guys, local pickup (they'll generally cut you a deal for a local, cash deal) and they offer both cheap and expensive solutions. My high dollar Philips bulbs in the Audi finally went out after 7+ years of use and I picked up their low end replacement 6k bulbs for $40 from them recently. Very happy with them. Andy
  15. Plus he's out to train for a race and picks the least track worthy as his favorite. Doesn't matter though, it was still entertaining...I watched it again this morning
  16. Personally I"m not a big fan of black wheels, and I'm REALLY not a fan of stock wheels that are black. I can appreciate the storm trooper look, but to work for me it has to be a black center wheel with a polished lip, even then I just want to see a beautiful wheel not one that's hiden because it's black.
  17. Great watch. 80 min long. Well worth it http://www.streetfire.net/video/jeremy-clarkson-the-italian-job_2086241.htm ...but I'm not a huge fan of his new favorite car, at least not in the crowd of those tested. Andy
  18. While I 100% agree with you because I like everything rediculously low you have to balance the fact that it's also a daily. My daily isn't the most practical because of it's low ride height which gets old sometimes (won't clear speed bumps for example). I had H&R springs on the 996 back when we first got it. They were mated to the stock shocks on that car and held up very well. I eventually went full coilover but they were a way to get it to sit "better" for reasonable money. Rode and drove just like stock.
  19. Good Eye...not too many people would have picked that out.
  20. Ryan, car is looking sharp. I really really like the lines of that car, it has tons of potential to be drop dead sexy. The 4x4 height is killing it for me though. Maybe not this low...but you get the point. http://i44.tinypic.com/6qgpip.jpg
  21. Amazing stuff in that colection. Call me crazy, but I too would take the F40 if I could only have one.
  22. +1 on the Hamilton. I think Hamilton and Oris and maybe Sinn (it's a bit more expensive though) are the best ways to spend your money if you want a quality product without the huge cost. Despite being afraid of the plating the Hamilton x-wind in rose gold with the carbon face has been the twinkle of my eye lately. Bob..you're too harsh on the Tag's. Most of their non-quarts stuff is solid you just pay extra for the same ETA movement that you'd get in a Hamilton or Oris because of the Tag name. They do a pretty good jog with keeping designs fresh and modern to the market.
  23. Someone sell me on why I need this game when I already play rFactor and iRacing.
  24. So with the BMW you'll get 3 oil changes, 1 cabin filter and a basic inspection otherwise for free while it's still under the factory warranty period. Maybe brakes if you're hard on them. Otherwise I"d assume ownership costs between the Audi, Porsche and BMW would be pretty close. The Porsche will probably be the more expensive to "maintain" by just a little bit but when we had ours I wasn't really ever alarmed by how expensive parts were. Matter of fact I think brake rotors for my Porsche were cheaper than brake rotors for my M3. The porsche does hold 10 quarts of oil though...the Audi and BMW around 6 so I suppose each oil change in the 911 is gonna be $40 more just from oil costs alone. Maybe someone with a newer Audi (jones) could chime in to back up the Audi costs because if you ask everyone but me Audi's are a maintenance nightmare when they get old. My A4 has nearly 200k miles on it now and it NEVER breaks....I can count the number of times on one hand that it's cost me more than $200 to fix something on it in my 8+ years of ownership. Sure it's a little old and worn and leaks a little bit but it's f'ing 11 years old and high mileage. I just accept it for what it is. Like I siad...unless you're talking benz I don't think you're going to see HUGE differences in maintenance costs for any of the other cars you're looking at.
  25. last I checked both BMW and Audi were 4 years 50k miles. BMW hypes up the fact that they'll cover everything including brakes that the car "needs" under the warranty period. But it's all subjective to proving the car "needs" something. For instance they will only do oil changes every 15k miles because they've deemed they don't need to do them more often. If you care about the car and want to keep it after the warranty period is up you'll change at a more reasonable period and pay out of pocket for it. I will give them the fact that they've replaced brakes on a couple cars for my buddies, but I bet it's really rare that they need to do so. My friend used to work as a service writer for Kelly and said I'd be amazed with how many cars they end up replacing stuck lifters and top end components in because they're all mucked up from people who actually follow the 15k oil change intervals. I'm all debbie downer on the BMW today...completely out of character for me but since it sounds like you've ruled out the M3 I'd totaly go S5 before I went 335. Andy
