  1. +1. Nice car, needs drop but good overall. Welcome
  2. Just silver, clean though They're CCW C14's in their standard finish which is a weird mix of brushed and machined surfaces. I think white would be pimp but silver is hard enough to keep clean at the track.
  3. See sig. I have very strong opinions on wheel color, but as others have stated those are my opinions and I'll put them into reality on my car to make me happy. You should do the same to your car regardless of what others think
  4. I believe that there are even clear tint's (maybe film is a better word here) that will block IR and UV rays and cut down on interior heat without even being dark, so I'm sure you'll get a pretty good reduction from only a 50%. Maybe do 50% on the sides and do the clear on the front windsheild. 20-35 would obviously match the rest of the car much better though since that's what's on the rest but will likely get you in trouble at some point. We've got 50% on the M3, Red interior car, on some very bright days you can hardly tell it's there, other overcast days the car looks fairly dark. Car seems to stay pretty cool, but I really don't have a before and after comparison, it's been on the car since the very beginning.
  5. Grand Am never fails to put on a good show. I have that weekend blocked on my calendar, as long as I"m not too backlogged on detailing work I will be there. Andy
  6. Thanks Dan, much appreciated and I hope you enjoy the car all cleaned up. I use the heat in the summer as an excuse to skip the gym , it's not working out for my physique but it works in my head. Andy
  7. Dan, thanks for the kind words. The car is just sharp the way everything comes together. I'm normally not a fan of those hoods either but it works with the rest of the car. Andy
  8. You've got to try a Liga #9 if you haven't already. It's what really got me into smoking into cigars in the first place and is my go-to smoke now. Always keep a couple in the humidor at all times. Tried the Olivia Serie V recently, not bad, was suggested by the gent at the smoke shop who suggested I might like it since I like #9. I didn't find them as similar as he described them. Also tried a Rocky Patel 1992 anniversary, Good smoke, will buy again but I wasn't completely blow away either.
  9. I'll get pictures posted this evening, left the camera sitting at home this morning
  10. I have 4 total Toyo RA-1's for sale, 2 - Still showing 4 grooves all the way around the tire, good even wear pattern from being constantly rotated, just getting into their prime as far as lap times go. Great for road racing, auto-x or just a sticky weekend tire without a soft sidewall. looking for $60 per tire. Tire #1, best of the bunch. this is almost what they look like when you shave them to 3/32 new for track work http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=656&pictureid=5261 Tire #2, nearly as above, little less tread but comparable http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=656&pictureid=5260 2 - down to just 2 grooves around the tire, little bit of camber wear but not horrible. At their absolute fastest as far as lap times go but are nearly gone. Would be good for probably one weekend at a DE event, probably a few Auto-x days still or a great drift practice tire $25 per tire. Tire #3, 3rd and 4th grooves around the tire are barely visible but still there http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=656&pictureid=5259 Tire #4, comparable to above, touch more wear. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=656&pictureid=5258 $150 if yoy take all 4. I'll have pictures of them tomorrow. Andy
  11. can you get the euro 5w-40? price?
  12. Thanks guys. Can't make cars and coffee for a couple weeks maybe after that
  13. No better way to get to know a new car than a track day. We got TONS of time today at the Instructor day with Audi Club. 3.5 hours total time per group, I went through two whole tanks of gas. Car is a hoot to drive. '04 GT3 21k miles, Euro factory Porsche Recaro buckets, JRZ triple adjustable shocks (600/800 spring rates), monoballs throughout in the suspension, stock wheels for the street, CCW C14's with Michelin Pilot Sport cups for the track. Formally owned by a pro racer and his setup notes got me pretty darn close, made a couple shock adjustments throughout the day but for the most part this thing is just dialed in and wicked. Big thanks to Derek for getting me up on the rack for the final alighment adjustments yesterday. Paint is dirty and swirly as crap, I"ll post formal pictures when it gets a proper detail here in the near future. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=22&pictureid=5238 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=22&pictureid=5239 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=22&pictureid=5237 Andy
  14. got ahold of Truechoice, they knocked it out for me quickly on lunch
  15. I need nitrogen canister pressures set on some race shocks, does anyone have the equipment to do that locally? I'm guessing Truechoice maybe but the shock services place is pretty difficult to get ahold of and I'm in a time crunch. Andy
  16. +1. I love the concept of a modern lightweight with great performance, and sometimes the 1 series looks OK to me, but most of the time I look at it and just cringe.
  17. 944t with stock motor is one of the most maintenance intensive platforms out there. It says something when even Porsche people scoff at potential costs of these things. Stock motor will reliably make 350 wheel and actually pretty easily make that number. 400-450 wheel is easily possible but they are notorious for not holding together well at that power level. I see too many. Guys even on conservative setups constantly blowing head gaskets at the track LS swap is where it's at. Buy a turbo or s2 for the Platform as everything on those two models is better than the standard cars.

    IPS: A+

This is a bit of a different review, I actually wasn't the customer in this case, IPS was my customer. However, every time I deal with that shop Mike, Jeff, Brandon and the whole crew go out of their way to give me whatever special time, space and scheduling considerations I need in order for me to provide the best possible work for their clients. In the end its a win / win and I never have to worry about hassles when working with them. Thanks Gents. p.s. Bring back the trance / techo in the shop. The music the other night was not working for me Andy
  19. Rich, Looking pretty good man. Your line is pretty good throughout. There are several spots you're leaving time on the table but it looks like just erroring on the side of caution. For instance T2 is INSANELY fast when you get it right, Visually there's no way you think that you could go through T2 as fast as you can, but it's a huge risk reward scenerio trying to get more time there. Only thing to note, Next time you're there work on the Carosel. You're too tight, too early on the turn, leading to a very early apex, nearly dangerously early in a couple of instances I saw in that video. Sorry I wasn't there or we could have worked on that some. You need to stay out about mid track or even further in some cases until you're ready to attack a very late apex and shoot down the straight. There's one lap where you almost do it right then you go back to your other (bad ) line the next few laps. You'll gain a ton of exit speed and speed down the straight by changing things up through there. Most people turn too early for T1, you don't and are doing very well there. Andy
  20. I always liked this shot of my old 996. Looking at these photos makes me wish I had it back. taken with my old point and shoot. http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/Picture151.jpg?t=1242309052
