  1. We used Intercity Lines when we purchased our Porsche, had it transported from Seattle here to Columbus, paid around $1700 for the service back in 2007. They were not the cheapest, but not the most expensive either and come highly recommended. Porsche uses intercity to transport all of their limited edition cars from port to dealership so I figured good enough for them, good enough for me. The service took FOREVER, however the car was treated in a first class manor while it was in their hands, precautions for anything taken and the driver who delivered the car was a class act as well. In their defense, alot of my scheduling issues were due to the fact that I purchased the car right around the time of the big Barret Jackson auction in AZ so most of their trucks were booked up, then because the car was in the far NW it took them awhile to get up there too. I think in total I waited like 7 weeks for the car which I still felt was too long, but the service was good in the end. Andy
  2. I've had a decent amount of luck with the zaino if the scratching is light, however it's pretty limited. There was an OUTSTANDING glass polishing kit on the market, came with specific pads and a really agressive glass polish. Took me about 45 min to an hour even with a machine to property polish out a windsheild but the results were amazing, however they recently quit making the kit so now I'm stumped on what to get as I've never seen anything work that good and my supply is all dried up.
  3. Ryan does outstanding work!
  4. Not a nice one. 996's are cheaper than 993's these days. I only got $26k out of my 996 aero car when I sold it 1.5 years ago.
  5. He installed a nice laminate for us. Individual planks like hard wood but a more durable finish. I'll post pictures when I get everything arranged.
  6. Justin spent Wednesday through Friday installing the new flooring in nearly our whole home and did a fantastic job. He was professional, courteous, timely and reasonable in price. It was a pleasure having him do the install and we couldn't be happier with the work! Andy & Yasmin
  7. I think certain companies work better with certain makes so it depends on what you're buying. We had Easy Care on the E55, to be completely up front I didn't pay for it, It was sold to the previous owner via the mercedes dealership when the factory warranty ran out on the car, I only had to pay a $50 transfer fee to get it put in my name when we purchased the car. We had a couple little things like a heater control valve go bad that I didn't even consider using the warranty. Cost me $50-100 in parts to fix it and a little bit of my own time but it wasn't even worth the hassle of taking it to the dealer. When we did have an $1100 air shock fail on the car the warranty was nice, though with a $200 deductible and the $200 difference in labor on what the warranty would cover vs. what the dealer wanted I still could have purchased a re-mann'd unit and just done the work myself for the same money in the end. I used the warranty because we had it though and had no real complications. Had something catostrophic gone wrong it would have been nice to have. I didn't re-up when it expired though. Andy
  8. iPhone + Harry's lap timer + GPS cradle = Don't have to race anyone, data will tell the story...moves from car to car in a matter of seconds. Haven't used it with my iPhone 4 yet but as I understand it video is integrated now too. It's no substitute for proper data acquisition, but it's pretty neat and still provides pleanty of useable data.
  9. I predict a sudden surge in registrations for the June 12 Nelson day!
  10. hummm...I could be swayed to bring my M3 out of the garage for an Audi vs. BMW grudge day @ Nelson.
  11. Great car, optioned exactly like ours (everything but panoramic roof). Good luck with the sale. Andy
  12. I'm with the lot of you that really doesn't care, sure it's a bit of sticker shock pulling up to the pump and seeing $4.35-4.40 for premium these days but honestly the only time I really even think about it is when I'm figuring travel costs for the detailing business. Even then it's not my primary source of income so if I eat $2-3 that would have otherwise been profit from each detail I guess I'm still OK with it. Not that it hasn't effected us, The benz gets 8-10mpg on average, my wife's commute used to be 1 mile each way but has recently changed to about 20 miles each way. What 'cha gonna do though, she loves that car, drives it like it should be driven and enjoys the heck out of it, can't see her asking me to buy her smething more economical.
  13. **I hate shiny interiors, if you do too these are my favorites** +1 on the Megs Quick Interior detailer. It doesn't have much UV, but nothing that doesn't leave a disgusting shiny finish will have much, just use it often and keep the thing clean and you will have no worries. Plus you can get this stuff everywhere and if it matters they sell it by the gallon now even though the world is sold out of the gallons currently. My absolute FAVORITE interior product of all time is 1Z Einszett Cockpit Premium, It's about double the price of the Megs though and only a little better. You can get it at Auto Assets in Powell if you're looking for a local source. http://www.1z-usa.com/einszett_cockpit_premium.html 3rd on the list is a produt that gets very little attention, Armor All makes a product called Multi-Purpose auto cleaner. It's stupid cheap...like $3.50 at NAPA, works wonders and leaves behind no shine. Unlike the other two it has absolutely NO protection that's left behind, at least the other two have a little UV protection in them.
  14. Sucks to hear but good to hear at the same time. I think it was the right move in the end. Glad we got it all cleaned up in time to impress the next owner
  15. Erik, thank you for the kind words and for having us out. Getting them dirty again is part of the fun! Andy
  16. I think the Kers is still gimiky at best. it's like high tech NOS!. I do realize Indy does something similar with their push to pass but I don't like that either, they have no other equalizers though. We all saw KERS by itself didn't work like intended 2 years ago, I don't really care for it now either I like the rear wing, but make it moveable all the time, not just when you're trying to pass. I think the two combined gives almost too much of an advantage to the trailing car. Let everyone use that wing however they like and wherever they like. I realize all of these combined are to help with passing and to make the competition better, but honestly I think the shit tire is all that was really needed. There are enough people on differing strategies and different stages of tire degredation throughout the race to make most of the action happen without the other aids.
  17. IDK. I liked the origional better. Lost some of it's character with the new headlights.
  18. don't do the HID's without doing the factory projectors. You can get the US ones pretty cheap, hell e-codes aren't even that expensive. I think mine were like $300 back in the day or something and that was 8 years ago. HID kits are a dime a dozen. I paid big money for mine 8 years ago...like $550 or something to get Philips balast and OEM Osram bulbs. These days you can buy a decent kit for like $100-150, cheap ones for like $50 check with "The Retrofit Source", local guys that carry both cheap and expensive solutions for HID applications.
  19. Was the car equipped with a panoramic roof? MB paints the rest of the roof black to match but most of it is glass. Not that people haven't painted the non panoramic roof cars to look that way but for the most part that roof is all glass. I'd do the wrap so when it gets old it's easy to un-do. http://www.mbworld.org/forums/members/tategoi-albums-tategoi-s-w204-picture8319-panaromic-roof.jpg http://0.tqn.com/d/cars/1/0/i/s/ag_08cclass_panoramicroof.jpg
  20. Yes but no, they're both about being raw and minimalist giving the best driving experience possible. One just happens to have 200 more hp than the other but take that away and the cars are all about the same thing. On most tracks the GT2 RS is only going to be slightly faster than a GT3 of any vintage. Only places like the 'Ring where the GT2 can stretch it's legs does the time difference really start to show itself. Straight line there is a world of difference between the two but if you bought either to go in a straight line you just don't get it. Aaron's car looks really good with the red wheels on it, he pulled off the look well.
  21. Dan, and everyone else for that matter, thank you for the kind words. It was a pleasure to meet you and get the BMW polished up. I'm working to move a couple things around to get the 3-series worked in after our rain-out, expect a phone call in the next day or so. Andy
