Still Present, but in our society we don't want to hear about the good, we want to hear how many dirty bitches Tiger fucked before his wife took a 9-iron to his head. I'll never love any other woman than my wife.

When I picked this plate it was both cleaver and true...more so about my passion for clean cars, but it holds true for my passion for cars in general. Like others, esp in the past year I've really lost focus a bit on the car hobby. It's still one of my stronger passions in life but I've relaxed that just a bit. To be completely honest, while I miss the Porsche parting ways with it was not nearly as difficult as I thought it would be. Then again maybe that's because I shop and plan out it's replacement on a daily basis even though I'm not in a position to buy just yet. http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q192/ZainoDetail/Picture1105.jpg

I got one of my boxes from ups but check places like walmart and meijer. I've since see them both places
-
The cheapest way is here. Creating an account with UPS is easy and simple. Print everything yourself and just drop off at your nearest location. All they did was verify weight and I was out the door: http://www.apexa.net/Blog/web_design_Blog_20090709.aspx I followed this advise and recently shipped two pairs of wheels. One pair shipped from Here to NC, they were 17's and I managed to fit them in an 18x18x18 box. Pair shipped to NC was < $30 Another pair was 18's going to canada. international is pretty steep. Ended up being $60 to canada, would have been like $35 to a US destination. The biggest issue you need to look out for when box shopping is that 18" diamter wheels won't fit in an 18" box. I think there wer 20x20x20 boxes as long as the wheels aren't that wide. I got dicked on my 18's because they were 18 x 10's and again the dimensions of the box are external so it's not really as big inside the box. I had to end up getting a 24x24x24 box to ship my wheels which cost me a few extra $$$ Andy

Saw you a couple of weeks ago when I was leaving the gym on lunch (Sawmill area). The stance on that car is perfect. The wheels are horrible but a necessity for the remainder of the winter. Can't wait to see it in the spring with some different rolling gear. Andy

Any special tools I need for this? I've got standard issue crimpers, strippers, etc. Anything is better than what I'm dealing with right now. It'd take me over an hour just to unpack and pack the stuff in the car, let along how long it would take me to pull the interior up to run a new cable all the way to the front of the car.
-
Can sheilded RCA's be repaired? I've got a break in an RCA cable right at the 90 degree bend where it goes into the amp. It'd be really great if I could repair the existing cable rather than empty the car of everything and pull the interior to run another cable. I've got enough extra length that it would be easy to cut the existing cable prior to the break and hopefully repair it but I'm an idiot when it comes to audio equipment and looking for some insight on this topic. If you've got an auction connection and can stretch your budget to say $13ish you could pikc up a 05.5 B7 A4 with the 2.0LT. It's worth the extra money over the 1.8T cars if you can swing it. E46 325 is a great car too though. Pretty different driving experience between the two of them. I'd prefer the 3 series if I were shopping today...but it does require snow tires to not be completely useless in crappy weather (not an issue if you drive the jeep I suppsoe).

Agreed. Even with 11 quart capacity there's still an issue with standard 996's and oil starvation when cars run slicks at the track. Long sustained left handers tend to starve the car for oil. There's a baffled oil pan they used on the X-51 performance package that's a direct retrofit for only $220 that fixes the issue but the real fix is to run accu-sump...or buy a damn GT3 to begin with so that you get dry-sump in the first place. Andy
-
True but false. They print in every owners manual that if you have not met the mileage requirements within a 12 month period that you're still to do an annaual oil change regardless of mileage. The 996 held right at 11 quarts if you drained the oil cooler with the change...and to clarify only the GT cars are dry sump these days, the "standard" cars have been wet sump since going water cooled. Yes, you can use clay on windows. What are you trying to remove ?
-
none this year Had a busy / crappy year and didn't have any time for the track.

Matt, good to see you here. Andy

I'll believe it when I see it. Our local DE chair with PCA says he will not plan any 2010 events with Bluegrass after what went on last year. Andy

Price Drop to $200

ahh...I can see spec Miata's in our future so that I can show you the fast way around the track.

2 wheels or 4: He was always quicker than me on 2 wheels. I think that he'll agree that I'm a touch quicker on 4 wheels though.

I think it's right at 330 at the wheels. And weighs under 2800lbs. Once we got rolling it was dead even between his car and the E55 doing 40-140 rolls...my E55 makes ~450 wheel. If I don't spin I get the jump of about a 1/2 car though while he is spooling That's not what it's made for though. It's a pretty amazing track car (the ones with turns) in that configuration. Andy

To be honest a year ago I would have been right there with you guys. Seeing medical insurance costs raise and cost me money got on my last nerve. Put yourself in my shoes. I'm a year older than you are now and on the other side of the fence watching my wife struggle to fight the disease. I actually feel like shit because I played off my wife's lump as nothing and discouraged her from initially getting her mamograme. While the statistic of 1 in 1300 mamogrames actually results in detection makes them seem like a waste, the stat that might be more alarming is 1 in 8 women are likely to develop breast cancer at some point in life. The younger you are the more serious it is no matter what the staging is. I'd argue it'd be a good idea to lower the age they start screening knowing what I know now. Andy -
E36 M3/4 is a solid choice. E46 330i would be another solid option and they're right around 10K now for early ones. Only about 20hp short of the E36 M3. Drastically different in many perspectives depending on how you really intend to use the car.

What's she shooting with?

My buddy had one and used it on his SLR camera and I had my doubts but it works really well.

That's what you think. According to my employee that's on medical leave you may be a full time employee next year.
