Roamr and I showed up about 5 minutes before the fast group rolled out. Good thing...jschaf was looking lonely.

2014 Eastern Mini Roadracing Championship! (6/21 & 22)
Tpoppa replied to redkow97's topic in Track is Crack
Seriously considering this if my schedule permits. How soon would I need to reserve a rental? -
The Marathon on 78 right next to the IGA. When we have a bigger group, we usually gas up then assemble at the pavilion across the street, by the river.

Sure, it's like playing golf with the guys in the morning before the ceremony.

I am not able to ride Saturday, moving to Sunday. ** I will be with kids Saturday due to a changing work schedule, so I am moving my ride to Sunday. A Saturday can still happen, but someone else will need to step up and lead it.** Sunday will have better weather anyway. Sunday 6/15 Saturday 6/14, I'll be leaving NEO around 7:30a, but the entertaining part of the ride doesn't begin until Millersburg. We'll be riding some of the most fun roads in Ohio...IMO anyway. We'll leave Millersburg Marathon/DQ (on 83) by 9a. The ride will end in Uhrichsville (intersection of 36/250/800) around 3:30-4. The route from Millersburg to U'ville will be about 250 miles. I plan to be back home in NEO by 5:30. 1st gas stop will be in McConnelsville. That can also be a secondary meet spot. I'll be leading. The pace will be brisk. If you were in the Fast or Med fast group of the Epic ride you should be OK. If someone wants to step up and lead a Med group, that would be good, too. More details to come... Fill up in Millersburg. Gas stops in McConnelsville & Woodsfield. Plan on 90 miles between gas stops. If you're bike can't make it that far let me know. I try to keep gas stops fairly short so I can get back to NEO at a reasonable hour. If you haven't ridden with me before...I try to keep the group together as much as possible. If we get too spread out by passing traffic, etc I'll slow down in straights to attempt to regroup (as much as possible). I stop at each time we turn off a road and at some stop signs to count bikes. No one get's left behind. If you need to turn off, tell someone...else we will be looking for you on the side of the road...and you may need to fight Pauly at a later date. DNFs and crashes are not allowed. Please don't ride over your head trying to match the pace of the rider in front of you. Your pace should be based on your confidence, familiarity with these roads, and current conditions. You don't need to follow the rider in front of you to make a pass. Sometimes there's only room for 1 bike to pass, and there are plenty of opportunities to pass. Here is the route. 276 miles. There are a few options to shorten (if you're OK missing some really good twisties). https://www.google.com/maps/dir/Millersburg,+OH/McConnelsville,+OH/Marietta,+OH/Woodsfield,+OH/Uhrichsville,+OH/@40.2076015,-81.6200923,10z/data=!4m67!4m66!1m15!1m1!1s0x88376daab3003ea3:0x55aea3086c4698c7!2m2!1d-81.9179198!2d40.5545071!3m4!1m2!1d-81.7666967!2d40.0883548!3s0x8837b9507d19af11:0x8cd173776370542a!3m4!1m2!1d-81.6894756!2d39.7448541!3s0x8837d75e80e023c7:0xb5d951e598d1fbc4!1m10!1m1!1s0x8837dbe95ee1d73f:0x329ee6213b2afce4!2m2!1d-81.8531912!2d39.6486822!3m4!1m2!1d-81.8873455!2d39.4680335!3s0x884816153c4d31ed:0x10a32f67af90128e!1m15!1m1!1s0x8849cce10cc4322d:0x3d62273591e4e495!2m2!1d-81.4548436!2d39.415352!3m4!1m2!1d-81.2483368!2d39.5280007!3s0x8849dc80f30e698f:0xde94dd9f551bb42e!3m4!1m2!1d-81.1115732!2d39.5316731!3s0x8849e6e3f67c77c5:0x7567519dee20b89f!1m15!1m1!1s0x883619008179027d:0xfa67a5fc17675db4!2m2!1d-81.1153842!2d39.7625729!3m4!1m2!1d-80.8946431!2d39.7579106!3s0x88360677c174d849:0x6deef257e74425f6!3m4!1m2!1d-81.0255934!2d39.8712871!3s0x883611834ca32b21:0x51e2601397bec4b0!1m5!1m1!1s0x8836fa052c9f0a27:0xda3930bf8f96461f!2m2!1d-81.3464998!2d40.3931218!3e0

I don't think the fast group cracked triple digits...at least I didn't.
-
Sucks, but still cheaper than a track day
-
I had a huge delay on the way down...got stuck behind a stopped train. Raomr and I got there about 5 minutes before the fast group headed out...which was damn near a jschaf solo ride. I only got to talk to the fast group and a few from the med-fast group. There were some others I wanted to talk to, but time didn't permit...so next time.

Will he be putting "the full weight of his office behind it?"

I have way too many cues. Here are 2 very nice ones I'd like to move. 1 - McDermott E-B12, 19oz 13mm tip, very straight, with a new Kamui Black Soft tip (these are $40 installed) - $125 E series are some of the better players from McDermott. 100% made in USA, unlike some of the newer ones. http://www.mcdermottcue.com/timecapsulee.php 2 - OB-108GW 19oz 12.75mm tip, OB classic shaft (the shaft alone costs is $220 new) very straight, with a Kamui Med Soft tip (again $40 installed) - $250 IMO, OB makes the most playable shafts money can buy. http://www.cheapcues.com/OB_Pool_Cues_OB108-GW.asp Both are straight, excellent players, and damage free. IMO, Kamui makes the best tips you can buy http://www.kamuitips.com/ Usually I am willing to deal some, but these prices are firm. Willing to ship at buyers expense. I can send photos via text.

I am starting to believe that Mags is just an online bot that has been programmed to prolong internet threads. The occasional personal appearance is most likely a paid actor.

I like dogs, but if one went after my kid I'd snap it's neck then spike it like a football.

I pass horses in Amish Country all the time. Never seen one do that. If I come up behind a horse/buggy I slow down to pass and coast by. However, I just continue about my business when it's in the other lane...just like any other traffic.

I've done it when I was short on time. Some bikes have different change intervals for the oil and filter.

In all serious don't EPA emissions rules lower MPG? Isn't 13.7 the optimal A/F ratio that results in best combustion, hp, and mpg.
