I kinda agree. Although, I'll wait to pass judgment until I see some better photos. I thought the 1190RS was good looking...not dead sexy...just good. The 1190RX needs to make a statement to put EBR on the map for people willing to drop $15k+ on a semi exotic sportbike. It needs to look the part to compete with Aprilia, BMW, Ducati, etc.

I would argue 2mph in court, unless you admitted to it. Was it 57 on radar? Calibrated recently? I once got a ticket doing 55 in a 55. Cop said I accelerated several feet before the 55 sign. Just one of the many reasons I think cops are jackasses.

Honda's oil change interval on the CBR600RR is 8k. That's the longest interval on any bike I've owned. It seems long, but no one knows this motor & trans better than Honda's engineers. I have 3.5k on the oil now and it still looks pretty clean. Would you/could you wait until 8k to change your oil? Why/not? (Not here to debate oil brands...I use high quality, motorcycle specific, synthetic oil)

Without listening to this, I effin hate Henry Rollins. His music is terrible. Black Flag was only good after he left.

I like the FZ09 platform a lot. I hope Yamaha builds a few other versions like an FZ09R and a mid size sport tourer.

The CBR is probably my last 'young guy' bike. Pretty sure my next bike will be a ST with the focus on 'sport,' or a naked bike with some hard bags. I am really liking the 2013 Street Triple R & 2014 Ninja 1000. I think I should test ride a VFR1200 before I cross it off my list. Also, really hoping for a FJR-09 based on the new 850cc Triple.

Had five riders on the CORE ride. I logged about 470 miles for the day. The pace was quick but not crazy hot. The only drama was a few detours that made us bypass some really good roads. It was a great day to get out. This was the first ride that I felt some confidence on the new CBR, which was nice.

I talked to that guy also. Looks fun.

There's a CORE ride on Saturday. Based on the guest list the pace could get hot.

I like Honda. I own one. But they have a history of making some wonderfully engineered bikes that no one wants. I guess when you're that big you can afford to take some chances.

Compare the VFR12 to bikes like the N1K or FZ1 or even a Triumph Sprint ST? Does it do anything better for the extra money? Honda makes excellent motors. I'm sure the 1200 v4 is no exception, but is that enough to make up for 600lbs and mid level suspension? Apparently not, considering the terrible sales.

What is the VFR12? It looks like an ST, but Honda calls it a sport bike. It has serious flaws with either category. Your CB1000R hits it's mark much better than the VFR. I've seen new 2010 VFR12's advertised for under 10k, and that price is going to drop even further over the winter. I'd take a chance on a used one for $6.5k-ish...I'll bet they'll be selling for that by the end of next season.

The fail is in the showroom. Plenty of deeply discounted 2010s will be sitting there for quite some time. Is the VFR12 an overweight, mediocre handling sport bike, or an uncomfortable sport tourer with short range and hard bags that are too small? For positives...it's a fast bike with Honda build quality. That may be good enough for some, but there are plenty of better bikes that cost a lot less than $16k.

The N1K is what the vfr1200 should have been. The 2014 is on my short list.
