  1. CG = Center of Gravity. There was also an XB9SL (low). Exact same dimensions as the XB12Scg just a bit lighter. I beleive it was just made in 2003. You can also look at a Honda Nighthawk 250. Or listen to IP...right foot on the peg, left foot on the ground.
  2. Right. I now have a bike that could handle such a trip. Plus, I expect to be able to do overnight trips again starting next season. +1 for the 616, or maybe even a Scorpion Sync depending on how far off pavement you plan to go.
  3. What kind of mileage and how many days would be involved in such a trip?

    Ruger LCP

Nope. You said this was used, any idea how many rounds have been fired? If it's beyond the normal break in period, you may want to send it back to Ruger for repair. There was a recall on early LCPs.

All the ultralight pocket .380s are a compromise. There's just not enough mass to cycle as reliably as a Glock, M&P, or <insert your kick ass gun here>. They're too small to get a comfortable grip...but light enough to be in your pocket when you need it Out of curiousity what ammo were you using?
  6. I'll bet there were sand fleas to make your time there even better.
  7. It means I used to carry heavy things very far for little money.
  8. I am not claiming to be King Shit. I'm actually quite out of practice with a rifle. The USMC just happens to have excellent markmanship instructors. Most Marines should be able to hit a silhouette 8 or 9 times out of 10 with iron sights at 500 yds using a beat to shit M16. If you can master that, fancy optics on an accurate rifle should be a piece of cake.
  9. Long range iron sights is a military syle of shooting. I've shot at Camp Perry twice, iron sights both times. When I was in the USMC our qualification on the M16A2 was iron sights at 200, 300, and 500 yds.
  10. Damn!! Indy cars are insanely fast. When those big sticky open wheels make contact, cars can get launched. Racers know they are taking a risk, but Damn!! I feel for his family.
  11. I ordered 1 of these in a bar the other night. I don't see what all the fuss is about. It wasn't very good.
  12. I just got a pair of A* SMX-R boots. I really like them. Lightweight and comfortable for walking. They work nicely for street or track.
  13. People have beleifs for a variety of reasons. If your beliefs bring you comfort then rep for you! However, the attitude of "my beliefs are right, your beliefs are wrong, and I really don't even care to know what your beliefs are," tends to get a reaction from me. Food for thought: The bible was written during times (roughly 1,500 BC - 100 AD) when the church and people in general firmly believed that if you traveled too far in any direction you would eventually fall off the edge of the Earth. As recently as the 1600s...Galileo (one of the most brilliant humans to have ever lived) was found to be a heretic and forced to spend the rest of his life under house arrest. His crime was suggesting that the Earth revolved around the Sun. This drew the ire of the Pope because this idea opposed the teachings of the chrurch and the word of God. If you read the entire bible (and I have), you may notice a common trend. The views of the bible reflect man's understanding of the world at the time it was written. There are no accomodations for the Earth being round, dinosaurs, evolution, the Earth revolving around the Sun, accountability for the souls of people from yet undiscovered civilizations, etc, etc. Primitive man knew nothing of these things. But the bible is the word of God, and God is all knowing. Hmmm.
  14. Ok' date=' but I kinda was. Paraphrase: "My beliefs are right. Your beliefs are wrong. And I don't want to discuss it." I've encountered this attitude too many times in 'believers'. I generally don't let that slide anymore. If this dogma is so true, it should be able to withstand a rational discussion.
  15. Why do you think that? What about the millions & millions of people that died long before Christianity reached their corner of the world? To which one of these places did they go
  16. I hear you on that. My work is commercial software implementation. Lots of stress involved. Riding twisty backroads brings much needed relief.
  17. Lighter sure. I've ridden with a few 'fast guys' that have had both sporbikes and SMs. In the hands of equal riders I've not noticed SMs going through the corners any quicker. OOC, to which videos are you referring?
  18. There is something to be said for flickability on tight roads, but OOC why do you think a SM will go through corners faster than a sportbike?
  19. JBot can find a wave to make any passing rider feel uncomfortable.
