  1. I'll buy another XB one of these days. Won't be this year though. Keep it for a couple years until I'm ready.
  2. This thread makes me appreciate belt drive.
  3. There are way more dirty cops than anyone wants to admit.
  4. Yep. Until they initiate a salary cap, I am boycotting baseball. 2010 Yankees Payroll is over 206 million 2010 Pirates Payroll is under 35 million It's ridiculous to watch teams develop talent that they can't afford to sign (C.C.). Only 5-6 large market teams have a ligitimate shot at signing the best talent and competing at the highest level. It's just not worth watching anymore.
  5. If there really are aliens, they are going to conquer us sooo easily.
  6. +1 part it or sell it as is for parts. There is really no sure fire to have a new title issued. You can try for a court ordered title, but the process is slow and there is no guarantee.
  7. Depending on year, the belts last from 25k-Lifetime. Belt drive has several advantages over a chain. The only downside is you can't change gearing, as mentioned above. 12k
  8. Pushrods and hydraulic lifters. Good = No Valve adjustments and lots of low end torque. Bad = There are limits to HP and RPM. Overall it a good streetable motor with plenty power for aggressive riding, but it won't set anyone's hair on fire on the track.
  9. Get a shinko if you're trying to save a few bucks.
  10. first Dio now Arnold, this has been a difficult week. If it wasn't for Half Pint Brawlers, I'd be crushed
  11. yes The 60 has a lower profile. It would marginally drop the front end, which reduces rake and trail, and make the steering more sensitive. It could result in a twitchy, less stable front end. I'm not familiar with the 1100xx, so not sure how much it would impact that particular bike.
  12. ...and it wouldn't hurt if you were topless.
  13. XBs are quite possibly the lowest maintenance sporty bikes you can buy and very reliable. No valve adjustments, no throttle body sync, maintenance free belt drive, etc. I put over 34k on an 03 XB9S. Maintenance was limited to oil, tires, spark plugs, and brake pads.
  14. The 1125 has a few quirks out of the box. But they are easily corrected under warranty at no charge to the owner. Long term reliability seems to be good. --Reflash the ECM - runs smoother, runs cooler, makes a bit more power. --Clutch cover tends to weep a small amount of oil out of the vent hole (small amount= a drop every thousand miles or so). New version of the clutch cover is available under warranty. --The Low Fuel Light can come on faslely at low temps, say under 45 degrees, it goes off as the motor reaches operating temp. The fix is to replace the Instrument Cluster with one with an updated firmware version. Free under warranty. --The only ongoing issue seems to be stator failures on 09s. HD has replaced (not recalled) the charging harness with one that seems to extend stator life. Perhaps they will realease an updated stator that solves the problem completely. *Not all 1125 have these issues, but these are the ones that have been mentioned with some regularity on the the Buell forums. All in all, I am happy with my 1125. The handling is top notch & the power delivery is quite linear.
  15. 2007's were going for $4,500, over the winter that was a 2 year old bike... I never said HD would go out of business. I expect the number of new HD's sold to steadily decline. It's a well known fact that their demographic is aging, and they do not have a grip on younger riders. This has absolutely nothing to do with recession. Do a Google search, there are plenty of articles by industry insiders and market analysts. http://dalefranks.com/cycles/index.php/2009/08/a-rare-tactical-mistake-an-ongoing-strategic-problem/
  16. The days of HDs selling for over MSRP are over. The days of used HDs holding most of thier value are coming to an end. Simple supply and demand. HD has produced tons of bikes since the mid 90's. Their target demographic (old fucks) are getting to the age where they can no longer ride, faster than HD is able to replace them with younger riders (read the Wall Street Journal's report on HD's financial issues). The fact is, there will be more used bikes than people willing to buy at almost new prices. Hell, this winter I saw several mint 05-07 sportsters selling for $4k-4.5k. If you are buying a new HD today, because you could always sell it and get most of your mony back, I would strongly suggest taking a closer look at the used HD market.
  17. Is this what you're looking for? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n2Jy90PDiSA

  19. You're supposed to say "No Homo" before you mention American Idol.
  20. I have a Diablo Corsa III on the front, and a Pilot Road 2 on the rear. Anything else is WRONG!!!
  21. The only line I see as obvious bashing is the line about the most reliable bike on the floor. Everything else is either factual or consistent with HD Marketing just presented in hilarious fashion.
  22. In this case it does. If you corner at a 6/10ths pace the shinko would probably hold up ok. If you're going to ride more aggressively get a better tire. Go to a track day and count how many bikes have shinkos mounted. My guess is ZERO.
