  1. 2007's were going for $4,500, over the winter that was a 2 year old bike... I never said HD would go out of business. I expect the number of new HD's sold to steadily decline. It's a well known fact that their demographic is aging, and they do not have a grip on younger riders. This has absolutely nothing to do with recession. Do a Google search, there are plenty of articles by industry insiders and market analysts. http://dalefranks.com/cycles/index.php/2009/08/a-rare-tactical-mistake-an-ongoing-strategic-problem/
  2. The days of HDs selling for over MSRP are over. The days of used HDs holding most of thier value are coming to an end. Simple supply and demand. HD has produced tons of bikes since the mid 90's. Their target demographic (old fucks) are getting to the age where they can no longer ride, faster than HD is able to replace them with younger riders (read the Wall Street Journal's report on HD's financial issues). The fact is, there will be more used bikes than people willing to buy at almost new prices. Hell, this winter I saw several mint 05-07 sportsters selling for $4k-4.5k. If you are buying a new HD today, because you could always sell it and get most of your mony back, I would strongly suggest taking a closer look at the used HD market.
  3. Is this what you're looking for? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n2Jy90PDiSA

  5. You're supposed to say "No Homo" before you mention American Idol.
  6. I have a Diablo Corsa III on the front, and a Pilot Road 2 on the rear. Anything else is WRONG!!!
  7. The only line I see as obvious bashing is the line about the most reliable bike on the floor. Everything else is either factual or consistent with HD Marketing just presented in hilarious fashion.
  8. In this case it does. If you corner at a 6/10ths pace the shinko would probably hold up ok. If you're going to ride more aggressively get a better tire. Go to a track day and count how many bikes have shinkos mounted. My guess is ZERO.

  10. Your avatar is not likely to help you sell...just sayin'
  11. XB's are VERY sensitive to suspension setup because of the short wheelbase. It takes a few tries, but when it's right you'll know it. From what you say, I would soften the compression by 1/4 turn and maybe reduce rear preload by a click. Sure. When setup right it's one of the best handling bikes around. When off they can be fidgety and twitchy.
  12. The guy was scammed, but technically the bike was stolen. I wonder if he can claim it on insurance
  13. Pretty much. I like to be on the road at the crack of dawn, minimize stops, and keep them under 10 minutes. Actually, to get to the really good roads from Cleveland is at least a 400 mile ride. I just try to keep a long day from turning into a REALLY long day. Plus, I always have shit to do in the evenings. Also, getting home by 4-5 seems to to avoid the "...would you rather ride or spend time with me..." conversations.
  14. Is that the bridge to New Martinsville?
  15. They repaved a few sections of WV250, definitly worth the trip. I was about 2 hours ahead of you on 255. I covered about 425 miles today. My tire is totally shagged.
  16. I am riding tomorrow, but I am planning to leave early. I'll be on the road by 8a home, by 4p. From my house, it will be about 420 miles through some of the better twisties in SE OH and WV (well the best WV twisties we can get to from Cleveland without an overnight). btw, my rides are more about quick cornering than straight line speed.
  17. Benellis aren't the most relaible machines around, so I would make sure you have access to parts and service. They are also known for parasitic electrical drains. The styling is love it or hate it. That said...I'd prolly hit it.
  18. I wanted to go, but due to reason outside of my control I couldn't ride at all this weekend:(
  19. Now they're saying he's being evuated and not fired, yet.
  20. And Brown has been fired.
  21. I expect Brown to be gone. I also expect LBJ will resign with the Cavs, but it will likely be another short 2-3 year deal to keep his name in the headlines and continue the endless where will he go next time conversations.
