  1. I've never seen an ADV bike with ape hangers.
  2. HD dealers had no idea what to make of the Buell Ulysses. It was more of a ST than an ADV, and actually a pretty good bike.
  3. Buell existed for 25 years. HD dealers marketed the 130hp, 400lb Buell 1125R as a beginner bike, so some day you could step up to the 65hp, 800lb geezer glide.
  4. Remember when HD dumped Buell so they could focus on their core business of chrome couches? Or when HD bought MV Agusta, sunk a bunch of money into their infrastructure, then sold the brand at a huge loss? Buell insiders claimed they had a dirt capable bike that was just starting production at the time when Buell was shuttered. Anyone remember the Buell Barracuda that was killed off? https://rideapart.com/articles/buell-barracuda-2-what-could-have-been What are the chances that these HD bikes are going to be any better than MVs or the Buells concepts? They'll almost certainly be heavier and slower. ....and HD dealers have no ideal how to sell anything other than cruisers. They only stock HD brander gear. And only stock OEM tires. Not a recipe for success in the ADV or sporty markets. Harley seems a bit confused on their strategy.
  5. It's supposed to be an all new liquid cooled 975cc mill. They mentioned competing with the Ducati Monster and BMW S1000R. I have my doubts. If they stuck with their design by committee philosophy where the styling dept makes the final decisions, then I expect it to be poorly executed, under powered, & overweight. Who knows, maybe they learned something from that joke of a Street Rod. I like the Indian Flat Tracker concept better...

  7. The first 500 miles is practice for the next 500.
  8. I might take you up on that. As of now looks like I'll be off work 8/18-22.
  9. I'm not a dem or rep. I agree (and disagree) with parts of both platforms. I consider myself a swing vote. If I had to do it over again I'd still pick Trump over Hillary, she's just to easy to dislike. If the Dems would have went with a more moderate candidate (niether H or B fit that category) I think the election would have been less polarized and Dems probably would have one. For 2020, I see Dems moving even further left, which is a tactical mistake. It's already happened in some of local races.
  10. I'll never own motorcycle specific hard luggage again. The price is stupid, the quality is mediocre, and they always get scratched up. Pelican and Seahorse cases are higher quality and much cheaper. There are plenty of mounting options. Also the waterproof, roll top bags used by ADV riders hold more and are more durable.
  11. 20 minute sessions just don't scratch the itch.
  12. Back in the CORE days, there used to be a Pittsburgh sport bike forum called Steel City Riders. We'd get together with them from time to time. I know they did most of their street riding in WV & SE OH...little in PA. I personally haven't ridden much in PA, sorry.
  13. I think the riding on the NE of Beckley is better than the SW section of the state. I also seem to recall some areas over there were prone to flooding and road closures.
  14. Tourmaster seems to have one of the best selections of sizes. They make overpants though, not jeans. https://www.tourmaster.com/inc/sdetail/overpant/1065/402
  15. I'll bet he hates all that tourism money that pours into that area. Without all those crotch rockets, most businesses in the area would be boarded up in about 3 months.
  16. That price is way more than fair.
