I bought a "13 new in "14 because it cost half as much as the bike I was lusting after & it kept me from spending money that I didn't have. Although not a supersport it is a bike fully capable of what you require. 16,000 miles & only tires, gas, oil (burns none), a little brake fluid, & a couple cans of Belray chain lube. If you get one, definitely change out the 50 series rear tire for a 55 series because it makes the steering neutral. I guess the newer ones have traction control & ABS if you are interested in that sort of thing. If you push past about 90% of supersport capabilities you will be dragging pegs though. Good luck on making your decision.

Austrian, perhaps.

Hey man, Nice to meet you. I'm not old either but some people would argue that. You were working that bike thru the corners pretty damn good & I was fascinated so I had to watch. Thanks for slowing down & lettin' me pass. We'll have to get together next year when we get the proper bikes & make sure Todd joins us on whatever he decides is the proper bike for him.

The XR is nice but I'm currently in the mood for a big f'n twin. Should be good riding next year If you're able to break away from the dog shows any.

Any old guy bike will do. Hell, on my way down to the ride Sunday I followed behind an older gentlemen on a Harley bagger that was holding an admirable pace. I stayed behind him for about 5 miles or so just to watch. We both stopped to gas up in Coshocton & complimented him on being a 1%er so to speak. He said that the Ohlins helped but none the less. Don't think I'll go the ADV route myself as I've got my eye on something European that looks very comfortable but will be more in line with the CBR than the Ninja in the Twisties department. (That's after I get the new phone, by the way.)

I learned a lot from group rides as well.
I learned to avoid group rides (not counting long trips riding with close friends)
LOL Dan. Yea, I prefer to ride with people I trust to have my back if something should happen.

No cops, no drops. That takes care of the important stuff. Beautiful weather.

Only problem I see is being able to pass in the twisties. Single track machine will pass if you hit the centerline. Slingshot you're screwed. Same with my GTI.

Stoked here. Otsego 9:30.

I would hope that Hardly learned their lesson with the MV Augusta acquisition.

Rivits are better. Never felt the need to remove a chain that wasn't being replaced.

Nice choice Nivin. Should serve you well for months to come, lol. It takes me years to get familiar with a bike.

We can always do a WV out and back.
Sounds good. Another 3 or 4 day in late July or August would be excellent.

400+ miles today. Every stitch was backroad. Every last second was a complete hoot. North Carolina roads don't even rate with Kentucky. It's been about five years since I've been on KY-80, 550, 7 & 404. That's way too long. Goddamn!! That's a good ride. That stretch of Kentucky asphalt is so fucking good that I didn't even give a shit if I went to jail today. We blew past a few LEOs today and I was certain they were hitting their woo-woo lights. I had to talk myself into choosing to not WOT if they did turn around for us. I know we were double the limit on 550 when that sherrif pulled up to the side street intersection. I blew by that cop and I FUCKING WAVED AT HIM in a manner that suggested I will make him earn that bust the hard way. Just two hooligans wreaking havoc on the driving public for 400 miles. Not one road I've ridden in NC or GA comes close to 550.
Stayed at Jenny Wiley state park. Took a cold shower. Had some fried catfish. Sitting on my 2nd floor porch overlooking the water and just destroyed a joint by myself. Tony is passed the fuck out. Lol
Best ride I've had in a long time. Might be the best so far, honeslty. 80 miles of full-on Busch League Isle of Man riding. GA-60 sucks in comparison. Not even kidding. It's like the stretch of 28 between 74 & Franklin, except more room to setup for the corners because none of them are blind. Wider road and you can see almost every exit at entry. That means you can commit incarceration-level felonies for 80 miles. Also, elevation changes the whole way. Cliff faces just a few feet from the road. Driveways everywhere. One fuck up and WHAM!! Didn't care. Hauled ass. Didn't blow a single corner. The road begs to be ridden fast. It's almost the perfect motorcycling road. All it needs is banking in the corners.
Two-thousand some miles so far. One more day to go. Gonna listen to the woods a few more minutes and then I'll grab a map and plan tomorrow's route home.
Incredible day. 80 miles of DOT sponsored racetrack. I will hit this loop every year from now until I die.
Green w/ envy here. I'm in for next year if at all possible.

Just buy a damn bike already. This has gone on too long & your thread is starting to get on my nerves.

Rode it the way it was designed to be ridden on my way home from work today. Incited road rage I imagine.

You guys give Nicky a proper sendoff. Can't work out the logistics from Cleveland for this but it is on my mind.

Hey Ringo. I remember meeting up with you, Hutch & CBR Brent in Coshocton a few years ago for a ride. As I remember you, Obnoxious as hell online, not too bad in person & an ok rider. Nice bikes you picked up there.

A good radar detector (Valentine or Escort) is on my list electrical gizmos to buy. A GPS would be down on the list in matter of Importance. Dead reconing is the most fun anyway, lol.

I hope she does well in her recovery. That's some scary shit there. Wish you both many more years together.

Sometimes better to pass than not recover and spend years in a vegetative state. Very sad nonetheless. RIP Nicky.

Good ride. Thanks all. 440 miles for me today. Would have waited for the other groups to get back but it was starting to rain.
