I've decided to let the CBR go & am looking at getting another bike. Since people on here find it appropriate to survey what color helmet they should buy I find it appropriate to ask the masses: What bike should I buy? Be advised, I may not take your advice. Bikes must be trackable & capable of demon releasing 500 mile street rides. Let's hear what you've got to say.

Damn. Good luck, hang in there my friend.

Don't work yourself into an early grave Nivin. I'm thankful I'm one of those lowly paid engineers, hearing about the hours you work. That's just crazy.

Anyone got a copy of @jschaf 's tire pressure spreadsheet. Gonna need that too.
I've got a copy but It'll cost ya, lol. On my Ninja, using Angel GTs I usually set my rear tire at 37 cold & the front at 33, then I'm, good to go.

Required Speed for tire Suggestions.
I want to suggest we adopt a format for Tire proposals:
(I'm using a modified @DerekClouser off idle Throttle Video)
All tire suggestions should say a couple things, average weight of motorcycle, estimated duration of tread life, maximum lean angle, and reviewers normal riding speed, road conditions and Lat & Long for gobal warming effect.
All the variables are variable. Depends on the intended riders wants & needs.

Depends on how fast you plan on riding your new bike in the corners. Fast, get Pirelli Angel GTs. Faster, get Dunlop Q3s, Fastest, get the Pirelli Supercorsa's that Mike mentioned.
Oh, & Congrats on the new ride. It'll be a little different I imagine. Hope to get a chance to ride with you this summer.

Wish we could all just get a grip. Country's become quite unhinged as of late. We need to start getting along again or we're fucked. This Libtard v Repuglican crap is really bullshit. I would like to think that most of us are more centered. I know I am.

Yep. Qman's right about any bike dragging if leaned enough & the heavier the bike with the lighter rider, yada, yada, but you probably wouldn't be disappointed with the VFR1200. I don't think it really accommodates taller riders though.

Pick your own GD helmet color then spend your efforts learning to ride better.

Back to the original post. I recommend a 1000cc rr for a starter bike for the OP only. This thread is driving me knuts . In the process of selling my CBR in this guy's price range. He could buy it & in a short time we'd never have to hear from him again. Nah. Couldn't do it.

Family & holiday & such. We'll ride soon but not tomorrow. Hope you can find some responsible motorcyclists to ride with tomorrow.

Won't be riding but I'll prolly stop by for a bit since I'm going to be in the neighborhood. Hope the weather holds out for the better.

i'm spooked from the stuff I've heard from folks I know who have bought them. Not trying to bash by any means. Good luck with yours.

676 jump is way fun. I wasn't even aware of the 255 jumps because I am cautious & (usually) slow down for blind rises, lol.

anyone have an opinion on this route?
(don't know how to embed here yet. Will figure out later)
Looks good to me. Sorry you got offended with the ride the other day man. On another note, You're going to have to lighten up, get a thicker skin, & develop your sarcastic humor skills to get the most out of this forum. (UP- This guy's got a goat path bike & likes to ride at a touring pace, so the route is ideal for him).

I thought that's why they call them Tuono's. Because you need Tu of them to keep one running. They do pull at your heartstrings though. Good luck with yours Jamie.

Yeah, I've been studying the constant-mesh transmission and see how clutchless upshifting works. I had no idea before that shifting could be so different from a car. I did come across a video in which a guy describes reducing throttle, pulling in the clutch, and upshifting simultaneously. I think that's what I started doing. I probably don't get the RPMs right because it isn't always smooth. That's why I've been adding clutch, just in case. I can't imagine downshifting this way though.
I guess I just need to spend more time feeling it out.
You'll never get it if you try to figure it out analyzing every possibility. Just Try some RPM matching on upshifts & see what happens. When you do it wrong your bike will tell you. When you do it right your bike will tell you. If you suck at it, your mechanic will tell you.

Keeping the Kaw just in case, lol.

Looking for a bike with soul here I guess. Cost of ownership be damned.

I can't see myself buying another non-Japanese bike anytime in the near future.
I thought you were keen on that BMW S1000R Tony. What changed your mind?
