  1. Congrats on the new bike Sam. If they would have been making those when I bought my Ninja 1000 I probably would have opted for one of those. Enjoy!------About the fender eliminator, when it rains you get a wet ass (rain gear before it pours solves that) & dirty bike (wash bike after ride solves that) whether you have a rear fender or not. IMHO, get the fender eliminator.
  2. That's a whole lotta busa for a decent asking price. Good luck on the sale.
  3. These modifications would only make the bike handle worse than it already does. Go for it.
  4. Can't make it down for the festivities. My 4 day weekend for the races last weekend now necessitates me digging myself out of the hole this weekend. You blokes & lady have fun.
  5. No. But I did get a degree in mechanical engineering & own computational devices.
  6. Going to try out the Salt Lick BBQ on Friday night. Reservations at Steiners Ranch on Saturday. Probably Frank's on Sunday. Friday & Sunday is not written in stone. It would be good to meet up. I'll pm you my cell#.
  7. I can clearly see that the bottom of the shoe on the top also has a concave radius. It's just that it it's a 251,095,680 inch radius (only rearward of the lead in which ends at the ball of the foot) so it isn't perceptible to mere mortals.
  8. Guess I'm in on this debauchery. It's always fun.
  9. That sucks man. Hopefully this will pass.
  10. Brian, Surgery is no fun I know. Glad they got you fixed up & you're on the mend. No new bike yet. Working on replenishing the new bike cash which was unexpectedly spent on a replacement geothermal unit recently. Your posts here are motivational.
  11. Welcome to the forum from a fellow NE OH 50 something (soon to be 60 something) rider. Nice stable there. I have more of a need for speed than a need for vintage myself, but it's nice to see some well cared for old bikes. Hope to meet you at some of this season's Ohio Riders get togethers.
  12. vfr1200 142 rwhp 590 lbs (4.15 lb/ hp), Ninja 1000 123 rwhp, 509 lbs (4.13 lb/ hp). Not a significant difference. Just buy Tony's vfr already. I was trying to persuade you to do that anyhow.
  13. That vfr1200 is very very nice. Seems equal with the Ninja 1000 on twisty ability but probably has better suspension as the Ninja has 41mm forks. Plus, no pesky chain on the vfr. Fit & finish on the vfr1200 is top end. Ninja 1000, not so much. Kawi went budget on the Ninja but Honda went all out on the vfr1200. IMHO it's one of the most underrated bikes around. Plus, the vfr1200 is red, lol.
  14. Ninja 1000 has been good to me. Never been left behind on it. It's not a bike with a soul though, if that's what your looking for. It's more like a tool for tools. (With comfortable ergos.) You can ride mine if and when you have your meaty greet if you want. I do soft bags & am not into that 2 up crap. My wife rides her own. I must admit, the thing that bugs me the most about this bike is it drags pegs at about 85% pace compared the CBR I used to have.
  15. Holly & I are attending. Got reservations for Steiners Ranch on Saturday night but open for suggestions for Friday or Sunday. (or at the track). Following the thread.
  16. This^. The VFR seems to be a bit more sporting than the FJR or Connie + it's a V4. Very capable bike. I'm sure you & Tony could work out a decent deal.
  17. Congrats on the new job. Good luck with making a decision on a new bike. Having trouble getting focused when choosing a new bike myself.
  18. I had a z50 of the same color & probably the same year when I was a lad. It was great fun. I do remember getting the rear portion of the frame welded up on a regular basis due to the jumps & lack of rear suspension. I had my heart set on something with a 5 HP Tecumseh engine on it at the time, but I think my dad got the Z50 for me because it was only 2 HP. The 3 speed transmission was a big plus for a rider in training though. Pretty durable little bike. Kudos for still having yours,
  19. Thanks fro reminding me Brian. Also going to COTA that weekend.
  20. So, who's it going to be Tim? Do you have a plan & a date for picking the luckiest of the elgibles?
  21. Saturdays are good. Your homebrew is excellent. Whatever flavors you want to make I'm sure will be great. The food last year was excellent as well. Great to get out & chat with some fellow riders. I'll ride my bike this year so I'll have earplugs for the mullet rock. If anyone has missed this so far you've missed out on a good time. If you decide to come don't forget to bring CA$H for Sam as he puts a lot of money & time into getting this thing together.
  22. Glory days & all. All our efforts to arrange a good party after the IMS has been a fuckin' fail to the point where I no longer have an interest.
