If you've got a shift lever for me, I've got a right hand mirror in good condition for you. :)

  2. Joke or not, I still laughed my ass off at this statement.
  3. RSVDon

You wouldn't happen to have a shift lever would you?

  4. RSVDon

Actually, it didn't touch my subframe at all! I was amazed.

I need 04+ RSVR mirrors (putting turn signals there now), outer side of left air intake, left main fairing, and a shift lever.

Gotta buy replacement delrins for the swinger and frame. They saved so much that I can easily justify keeping and replacing them.

  5. WTF dude? Guy comes on here asking for help on a bike and in no more than two-posts you call him a dumbass and his girlfriend a fatass? How bout trying to NOT be an asshole. Go back to parting out your Ninja.
  6. The RSV4 is tits, but it's so compact compared to the old RSVR that it loses a lot of it's appeal for 6+ft individuals like me. /threadjack As for the bike. It sounds fairly good. Any rash on anything? Does it still have the factory license plate mount? Look for scrapes on the swingarm, fairings, forks, even the footpegs to make sure it hasn't been down.
  7. Don't buy new. Baaaaaaad idea. Buy used when literally 2/3 of the value has already dropped off. My bike was $5000. Shhhh, keep it a secret. lol
  8. Taylormade makes this slip-on for the 09 Gixxer. Is this what it looks like?
  9. I think what he means is this. Under bike. Standard The CBR F2, even though it's old, still makes 105 hp at the crank. The only "step" between it and a 1000 is the Gixxer 750. And if you don't want the 750 why not buy the 1000. I went from an 87 CBR 600 to the Aprilia. Blow me.

And she's still fast on a Gixxer too. Awesome! :leghump disengage:
  11. I'm going to buy a 1-piece soon. But wearing a 1-piece just to go places around town isn't ideal nor is it convenient. I'm just looking for a little more protection for my around town riding pace.
  12. I call BS on that 153. Did you see where they were at? No one in their right fucking mind would touch even 120 on that road. That laser gun is jank. 96 is believable, 153 is not. Do these people realize what 150+ mph even looks like or how much ground you're covering at that speed.
  13. Shitty phone pic. I got a chance to survey the damage. Left side air intake, left side turn signal, left side mid fairing, shift lever, frame slider, swingarm slider. That looks to be it. I got really lucky. That frame slider lost over an inch but it kept everything else perfect. The 'priller will live to fight another day. This makes Don very happy. Now time to decide between Shoei and Suomy.
  14. I considered repainting it Suzuki turd orange, but i don't think it's a flattering color for any bike.
  15. If I went with overpants I might as well buy a set of leather pants. I already own a set of overpants and rarely use them due to their bulk, annoyance, and general dislike. That's why I was looking for something that would just simply go under a pair of jeans and won't be too hot. Hence the armored compression shorts and pants. Maybe a little extra "diaper-like" padding wouldn't be a bad thing. Lol! At least that's what my hip is telling me right now. The Bohn stuff looks pretty promising.
  16. Haven't seen it yet myself. Transport for it is today at 4 pm from my buddy's place. I'll take pictures then and post em up.
  17. Okay, that was pretty epic right there. I'd rep the hell out of you, but....you know.
  18. Ok, sooo I'm thinking some knee armor at least would be nice now. 60% of my riding is not tearing down backroads so I'm always in jeans. I'm looking for good armor that fits properly underneath jeans and still protects. Alpinestars has an armored compression short that looks pretty good, and I also stumbled onto the Bohn Armor Adventure pant that is a full length with hip, butt, and knee protection. What do y'all use and what are your opinions on it?
  19. Ok, cool man, thanks so much! Ive got a set of heli-bars as well sitting around. Luckily I think the way the bike went down that it didn't even hit hard on the clip-on. Who knows, too much adrenaline to do much else other than get to safety and calm down. I go today to pick up the bike from a buddy's house. I'll get some pics of the (light) damage. Well......hopefully light.
  20. Thanks asshole. And yeah, definitely rider error there.
  21. North Fairfield Road over the 675 Bridge. Not quite sure what happened other than the bike completely folded under me right after the bars went full cock to the right. Recon Rats recap is probably right, and when it finally bit, the steering was cocked. Luckily my buddy was behind me in his vehicle and it was a very low traffic situation so nobody else was an issue and we were able to get the bike up and out of there. As I sit here in bed with both knees hurting a little still, I'm definitely thinking under-jean kneepads sound fantastic. I knew that was the one weakpoint to my gear setup and now that thought was just reinforced. Damage actually looks pretty inexpensive. In terms of legality and riding, all I need is a turn signal and a shift lever. Cosmetic I haven't quite evaluated yet. Soooo, I guess it was bound to happen sometime. I'm glad my learning experience was a relatively light one. I got off pretty lucky.
  22. Buuuuut, I'm still here breathing and walking so I guess that's good right. Long story short, warming up tires, braking fairly hard, bike either locked a wheel or lifted the tail, not sure. Bike folded under, I went off the left side, did a couple of barrel rolls, and stopped rolling to watch my bike go sliding and sparking down the road. Probably dropped around 35 mph. Damage report: Me- skinned knees, bruised hip, stubbed thumb, and a busted ego. Bike- turn signal, shift lever, bar end, and one plastic. The frame and swingarm sliders worked perfectly, didn't even touch the tail! Bike was actually still ridable. Gear- helmet took a nice hit to the temple and face shield broke off, I didn't even feel a hit (Shoei FTMFW!). Jacket got scuffed but no seams busted or anything, boots worked perfectly, gloves worked perfectly and were very slightly scuffed. Big thanks to CBRZach for riding the bike back to his place and taking care of things along with another friend of mine. Now, time to bandage up the scrapes on my knees and go to fukin bed. See y'all in the morn.
