  1. Yes, I would call them though and ask if they have one that's motorcycle specific. I think that one is setup to run two ballasts. Also, Sound familiar?
  2. It's $10 for the kit from DDM, but $15 shipping which sucks.
  3. The ballast should only make that noise when it's being powered. Is it possible that you turned the key all the way to "park" instead of "lock"? Some bikes have a setting on the triple that allows you to lock the forks and it will turn on the headlights and taillights, usually this is set by turning the key past the "lock" position. If it also does this by low-powering the headlight that means you'd never see the HID on but the taillight would be and possibly cause the battery to drain.
  4. DDMs ballasts have an undercurrent protection system like most HID ballasts. If they aren't getting enough juice they'll shut down. Your factory wiring harness isn't supplying enough power, you need an accessory harness that draws power directly from the battery after startup. And I suggest you do it soon before you melt the factory harness. Otherwise you're going to have a whole different mess on your hands. Wiring is simple for these too so it's hard to do it wrong. Two spades go into factory headlight bulb connector, if they're in the wrong way the bulb won't fire at all so that isn't it. Visually inspect the rest of the wiring in the loop for the ballast to bulb, if you don't see anything and the connectors look good then it's probably not the kit. If all else fails and they don't fire correctly after installing the accessory harness, it's time to look at a faulty ballast. Good thing DDM has a lifetime warranty on all their ballasts they sell.
  5. Oh wait, different kind of tank.

    Insurance?

State Farm for me. As for the high insurance prices on the R6. Well, it's brand new. Do you have a lein on the title for it? That doesn't help at all. Also, blame all of the squids in your area for buying brand new bikes and wadding them a few months later. My buddy (keep in mind he's 21) has had no incidents, tickets, etc and his 06 R6 was like $1400/year for full coverage. So, you aren't alone. I have full coverage on my Aprilia through State Farm, it's $1400/year for me with $1000 deductible. Buuuut, I'm a bad boy. Many tickets for speeding and one not-at-fault accident, so, I kinda expect a rate like that. In the winter I drop collision and just keep comp on it in case of fire or theft or something and it costs $20/month to store it like that. You are correct Nick that State Farm just looks at CC size, but, my insurance card also states "supersport" on it. So I don't think it's just CCs anymore.
  7. Mechanix gloves will last about as long as jeans if you land palms first, just sayin... I won't buy a single glove that doesn't have a full leather palm, even if the rest is mesh. There's too many things I like to feel and do with my hands to even think about losing them.
  8. I'll be in Michigan until June 19th with some periodic visits to Dayton. The bike is still in Dayton so I'm really missing it right now. I'll hit you and Brandt up for a ride if I'm in town and have time some weekend.

  9. WTF was a Kettering cop doing on the highway? I don't think I've ever seen them there. Or did it get transferred to your jurisdiction?

  12. I was being distracted by spending time with the gf, then moving back in to school in Flint. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

Foruming while hammered can be entertaining if you use that little "New Thread" button at the top of the page. lol

  13. ^ This dude is great to ride with Brian. Just expect him to leave you in the dust if he wants to. He does to me!
  14. Lol, she's doing pretty well got the new chain/sprocket on there, a new tire, PCIII, and cleaned some stuff up for this year. Still as fun as it was last year! I'm gonna wait till late summer and probably get a dyno tune from DTMBrian to smooth things. So, all in all, things are going well.

How's the yami treating you after the rebuild?

  15. Drove to school in Michigan with no bike. FML.
  16. First page: Awesome! Second page: garbage. Damn safety Nazis.
  17. I didn't think the ergos were any different from the 1098. The 109& felt comfy for my build.
  18. I have proof of your squidliness too. When I waved to you from the GTO last year, I also took a picture.
  19. And we wonder why there is a sudden increase in motorcycle accidents. All the people not wearing shorts, flip-flops, and a wifebeater have been on the road for a couple weeks now. Let the riding season begin. PS: Yut Ughhh bitches!!!
