  1. An important step was taken yesterday in Wyoming toward restoring the constitutionally protected right of Americans to keep and bear arms, as that state became the second in less than a year to enact legislation affirming the right of its citizens to carry a concealed firearm without a special government-issued license.
The right to carry a concealed firearm without a special license issued by the state is often referred to as “constitutional carry.” Wyoming is now the fourth state in the Union that recognizes constitutional carry, joining Alaska, Arizona, and Vermont.
It appears that the trend toward “constitutional carry” is likely to continue, with several states weighing adoption of measures similar to that which became law today in Wyoming. An article from the Associate Press declares that “Similar bills are pending in states including Colorado, Minnesota, Montana, New Hampshire, South Carolina, and Utah. A bill has been introduced in Kentucky but hasn’t advanced while another was introduced for discussion in Idaho.”

I hope Ohio jumps on board with this.

  2. This is the correct answer. You can go to many ranges and rent guns. For example near me Stonewall rents the first gun for like 10 bucks, then every gun after that is 2 dollars. They have a pretty extensive selection. I have not been there but I have heard Fin Feather and Fur has a huge selection of rentals. BTW, you have not told us what you want the gun for. Just range plinking...carry...competitive shooting...Zombie Apocalypse? The purpose makes a difference on the answer too.

This too! If you want a carry gun a 50 cal desert eagle probably wouldn't be a good idea. On the flip side elephant hunting wouldn't go well with a .22.

Home defense, daily concealed (or open) carry, target plinking, varmit hunting, competitive target shooting, or just because you can, are all going to have different needs. There's quite a few people here willing to help, we just need a little more information.

  3. In all seriousness, guns are like bikes. Everyone has the ones they like and the ones they hate. It's hard to say what a good gun is for a new guy. I love my M&P and dislike Glock. Others will tell you just the opposite. It would be easier for you to check out some gun reviews online, go handle and shoot some then come back with I like A,B, and C. What do you all think?

  4. Licking County Open Carry Club is having a Meet, Greet, and Eat on Monday March 21, 2011, at Stacey's Buffet in Newark/Heath starting at 6:00pm (18:00) and lasting for at least two hours. The address is 833 South 30th Street Heath, OH 43056-1207. We invite all Second Admendment supporters to come out for an evening of fine food and good fellowship with like minded people. Kids are welcome to this family event!

Stacey's is a four star buffet with excellent food, plenty of room, lots of patriotism, and is very supportive of our Second Admendment rights. Come support a local business that supports you back!

Open carry, carry concealed or don't carry at all. Just be supportive of our right to carry.

I'm planning on making it to this one again but won't know for sure until it gets closer.
