  1. After active duty I did two years with the Ohio National Guard. We deployed to Louisiana in response of Hurricane Gustav.

We stayed in a high school gym

The local girl scout came and baked us brownies and cookies then sang some songs. It was really sweet.

We handed out water, food and ice to the people.

    Water levels were really high!

After we completed our final test for tracked recovery school (H8). They let us mess around in the mud.

Inside the M88. My mom used to tell me these are the only pictures I would be smiling in. I really enjoyed being on an M88.

Boredom took over and I tried to see how big I could blow a latex glove. It popped just after this picture.

And I learned to use crutches like stilts.

  3. I think I partly joined the Airborne to get out of the mud and have a safer job.

That says a lot about being on a drill crew lol.

Dropped my ruck and rifle, fell to my ass and said "F*ck this. Civilians don't gotta deal with this sh*t!" Had a Staff Sergeant attention at that point, expecting a boot to the head, he did me one better.. he said " I hear ya. We out here dealing with this crap all the time, we don't get sickdays, hours suck, pay sucks, we stand around in our best uniforms in the rain for hours and get f*cked with when we don't look good. Any civilian in their right mind would EVER do what we do, every day. THAT'S WHY IT'S CALLED SERVICE! Now get on your F*CKING FEET AND DRIVE ON."

That hits home with me. Repped.

  4. According to the Vinton County Sheriff's Office, a call was received at 8:18 p.m. Tuesday from a female homeowner on U.S. 50 west of McArthur reporting an SUV had struck a guard rail in front of the home and her husband was going outside to check out the situation. Two minutes later, she called back frantic and said the man involved in the crash had broken into their home and was attacking her husband.

This is why you should not believe that your home is a magical place that protects you from harm or danger. This man was trying to help someone out and the tables turned on him very quickly.

  5. I just love to ride man.........................................love to ride. :woo::cheers:

Chevy, you and Porter don't have to worry about that, for some reason you guys are alright in my eye;) Friends bust on eachother. ;)

    Disclaimer: I've been drinking

Josh, you're almost catching me in posts. I slacked off in posting after 2008. I did it for the underdogs so they can keep up. :)

 Yeah, I have no life. It's too easy to keep the OR page open at work. I'd say you're okay in my eye too, but that would sound ghey. Like when you said it...:D

  6. Speed traps are common on the highways heading into and out of Las Vegas, Dornsife said. Department of Transportation records indicate traffic could handle 80 mph but a 70 mph zone is strictly enforced. Even side streets have traffic stops, one motorist noted on Speedtrap.org.

I have seen this first hand! Never gotten a ticket but have seen a lot of people pulled over. There are spots where the speed limits drop when they really shouldn't be that low.

  7. I've noticed there is a lot of sportbikers in Toledo too. Wish you guys weren't 2:45 hours away cuz I'd love to see what it's like to ride up there. I know what the town is like because I've been there many times, I just don't know the biking part of the city.

    Disclaimer: I've been drinking

Rep for having better grammar and pronunciation while drinking than some have when sober.

Edit: I went to rep you and I gotta spread it around. Damn Casper and his shenanigans.

  8. Also, our union will still be here..., but we would have no back bone to go off of, and no arbitrator to help with problems!

All the other stuff I said, is true about our schedule and time off, etc.. I'm screwed if it passes!

I've been reading through this but haven't commented because I'm not really familiar with this bill.

First you stated that the unions would be abolished, numerous time. You even went through an English lesson so everyone would know. Now you say they won't be abolished. It sounds like to me you are not familiar with this bill and are only going off of what other people have told you. I was really wanting to side with you on this until you flipped about the unions. Now I am lead to believe you don't know how this will really change things.

I'm not trying to insult you or be a jerk. I have great respect for our firefighters. You are part of a different breed to run into a fire when everyone else is running out.

Bills anymore are written is some language that no one seems to understand then everyone "thinks" they know what's going basing it only on hearsay.
