  1. did you pick it up locally? gander only had one holster for my gun and it was owb... theyre $26 online, so if i can pick it up cheaper somewhere ide prefer that

You edited on your earlier post!

I got mine from New Albany Shooting Range. Was made specifically for my M&P, not one of those ones that fits a gun of a certain size.

As far as cleaning it, I clean mine every couple of weeks, not weekly. Run a swab through the barrel to clean the dirt and lint, and wipe it down with a light coat of oil. All my guns get cleaned monthly just as preventative maint.

  2. **edit

Basically but that one you posted is an outside waistband. The paddle part slips into your pants and there are small hooks that hook under your belt that keep it from sliding back out. I don't like the paddles because it's very uncomfortable for me. Plus trying to take it off can be a bitch.

  3. I have a desantis like Curby posted. I love it. It's comfortable and won't come out even when I run. With the clip it's nice because I remove the gun and holster together as a unit when I get to work or when I get home. Only times it comes out of it is when I shoot, clean or switch holsters.

As far as holstering, it's for concealed carry so there isn't really an issue with that. You draw it when you need it. It's not a duty holster where you will be drawing and holstering is a lot.

I think mine was $15 bucks.

  4. I miss my HMMWV I had in Iraq. That thing ran awesome! I'd love to pick on up. It's funny when an H1 comes to the shop, I get to work on it since I worked on them in the army.

    Hmmv>h1

H1s suck. They've been modded to be civilian friendly but since it was made for the military, they don't convert well. Too many issues with the civilian equipment.

  5. Welcome to ORDN! Funny to see an intro geared towards carrying lol. I carry 100% of the time, either open or concealed depending on the situation. I ride with it on my hip. At first I was worried about landing on it, but I'd rather have it easily accessible if I need it.

  6. I don't care if they see it, I'm more looking for comfort on my body. Also if I'm driving to be comfortable...or should I take it off in car?

It will depend on your body type and what you feel is comfy. I carry a medium size gun and don't notice it anymore. Some people take them off in the car so it's comfy or so they can get to it easier. I usually don't.

Best thing would be to try them out. If you want to wear my M&P .45 compact, you're more than welcome to. Like I said, I have an IWB and OWB holster you can try. It's really hard for anyone to say what would be good for YOU.

I've been considering a shoulder harness. Would be easy to get to, protected from hitting it on something and hidden under my jacket.

  7. What kind of carry are you wanting? I mean do you want something NO ONE will notice or you you not car if you print? (People can see a bulge and/or the outline of the firearm)

BeeGreen-Yeah I've see little girls carry huge .45's and I've seen huge guys only like to carry a .32 or .380.

  8. Size is completely personal preference. Mine is bigger than that. I only carry IWB at 4 o'clock or OWB at 3 o'clock. After the first couple weeks, I didn't even know it was there anymore. I have no issues on the mike and my only issue it when I carry OWB, I tend to sometimes hit it getting into the car.

I'm not really comfortable carrying in the ankle because I feel that would be wasted time to reach it. If I carried a back up gun, I'd carry it there though.

  9. Not being a smart ass, but did you verify the bulbs aren't burned out? I've see dashes where a bulb will burn out and the customer doesn't notice then later another burns out and is completely dark. You'd think since all were out it'd be a wiring issue or fuse but always start simple.
