  1. Chevysoldier just went through the carbs on his FZR 600. Be prepared, it may not be a simple cleaning job! He ended up having to replace the emulsion tubes that the slider needles go through. There was NO getting it right otherwise.

Which is why I didn't volunteer to do yours bikerboy. Mine turned into a lot more work than I expected and they still aren't done. Carb work is a "only when I have to do it to my bike" type of thing for me.

  2. Welcome!

One of the better forums out there is the Ohio Riders forum. If you live and ride in Ohio, are just going to be passing through or are stopping in for a visit, be sure and stop by the Ohio Riders forum to glean great information about motorcycling in The Buckeye State.
    :werd:
Since they are a location based forum they do not care what type or brand of bike that you ride whether it be a Yamasaki or a Honda-Davidson.

  3. Silverfox duh. It had a silverfox and even said silverfox.

I was there about 6pm. She's working in helmets when I saw her. I didn't get to say Hi as she was with customers.

Ah, I didn't really look at it very closely, just saw the sticker. Never met her either so I wouldn't have recognized her. lol

  4. Not that it is a perfect tell-all' date=' but tires are the rat fink of riding ability. One can gauge another rider's skill level by a simple glance at a front and rear tire. If a new rider comes to the table and his tires show signs of him never being on a road that changes directions I'll tend to stay away from that rider. Be it in the front or way in the back... I keep a distance, because chances are he's going to eat shit on this ride.[/quote']

I use a scotch bright pad and rub the edges of my treads so I look cool.:rolleyes:

  6. Normally if you are in a situation where your life is threatened and you have the ability to retreat before using deadly force you must do so. The castle doctrine makes it so being in your home or car, your "castles" if you will, you do not have a duty to retreat if possible before using deadly force.

    B) For purposes of determining the potential liability of a person in a tort action related to the person’s use of force alleged to be in self-defense, defense of another, or defense of the person’s residence, if the person lawfully is in that person’s residence, the person has no duty to retreat before using force in self-defense, defense of another, or defense of that person’s residence, and, if the person lawfully is an occupant of that person’s vehicle or lawfully is an occupant in a vehicle owned by an immediate family member of the person, the person has no duty to retreat before using force in self-defense or defense of another.
  7. I was able to make one OR ride last year. There were 6 of us I think, would have had one more but someone cough, Recon Rat, had a nail in a tire. Max Power was in lead because he knew the roads to where we going. I was at the back of the more experienced riders, with Jagr pulling sweep with Moose being on his cruiser. I think I told everyone before hand I was inexperienced and agreed we would stop every so often to make sure everyone was there. I also said I wouldn't ride past by abilities. The group was very understanding and very accommodating. All in all I think it was a very safe but very fun ride.

If ground rules like that are set before hand, there should be hardly any issues on the ride.

  8. This is good to know. Next time some stupid low life tries to steal my truck and jacks up my ignition he will have a nice warning shot in the general direction of his foot. Next one wont be as friendly.

Can't do that, your life wasn't threatened. You cannot use deadly force to protect property.

  9. Should have listened to me the first time. :p

Yeah but at least I didn't waste any money.

    :(

I was looking forward to this coming out on blu ray and hoping it would be really good... The trailer looked so promising, if for no other reason than the cast :\

The trailer did look good, but then you have already seen most of the funny parts. :(

  10. if you can't tell when something is tight enough, you are one of those persons that shouldn't be using tools for a hobby or professionally.

working on things requires common sense.

if you really believe a shop uses a torque wrench on everything they put back together, you're dreaming.

I work at a shop, professionally, on cars and trucks. I know what to use a torque wrench on. We don't torque every bolt. Sure I know I could tighten by hand those bolts, or I could be absolutely sure they are right and not have to worry about it. Quality, self-assurance, safety.
