  1. I really think there is more to this than stuck floor mats with the amount of people this is happening to. I agree about putting it in neutral as long as the shifter is still mechanical. Not sure how Toyota is doing this on new cars but if it is 'Drive by Wire' like the throttle system then I can see how putting it in neutral might not do anything if there are software issues. If that lady is telling the truth then there are bigger issues here.

If the engine still wants to give at gas, shifting into neutral will separate the engine and transmission. No power will be going to the transmission but the engine will still be wanting to rev has high as it can. so shift into neutral then turn the key off, not lock. You will lose power steering and power brakes but you will slow down and not blow up the motor from it possible over revving.

DISCLAIMER:The above is what I would do. I am not responsible if you do the same and kill yourself.

  2. Bunch of idiots. If someone misplaced a firearm in Iraq, it got dummy-corded to their arm so they couldn't loose it. I have always known where my firearms are at, to the exact spot, not just "in the closet somewhere". Quite terrifying when you think about it. People that are supposed to protect and they leave deadly weapons around for gang members to swipe and scratch gang symbols into them.

  3. I know this one is a bit more abstract... but I spend at least 1 hour a day looking for emails... we have a very short retention period at work (6 months) so I spend 30 minutes trying to figure out if the email was longer than 6 months ago, then the next 30 minutes trying to search through my emails

fyi, as of this moment I have 15,158 emails... in 6 months :(

    :eek::eek::eek:

  4. Head gaskets? Not on 4.3's. I can only think of maybe 2 or 3 cases in the 10 years I've been a technician at a shop. The 2.2, now that's another story, but I don't think you could get 4wd with the 2.2. The INTAKE gaskets go left and right on the 4.3, especially with the factory fill dex-cool. I recommend Peak's Global coolant. I run it in everything of my own.

Ball joints, pitman arm, and idler arm routinely fail. You also have to consider the GM fuel pump plague. Don't run it low on fuel, and that will help.

I've also noticed some of the transmissions with a broken sun gear shell, which causes a loss of reverse, second and fourth gears. Funny thing is that I rarely see the same thing on trucks with a v8 and the same transmission.

The oil cooler lines develop leaks where the rubber lines are crimped to the aluminum ends, and CAN cause serious engine failure if not attended to.

Really, there's not that much that goes wrong, I just highlighted a few things that I've seen a few times.

With all that said, I DO like them. It's not often that they get towed in, unless the owner totally neglects them, and does NO maintenance.

I told ya he knows them. I did forget the oil cooler lines, damn.

  5. hockey? :wtf:

Yeah there was a young girl a few years back at a Columbus Blue Jackets game got struck in the head my a puck. Thats why they have the netting up behind the goals. While the puck is in play, the ushers won't let people get to their seats. They make them wait until the puck stops.

so i was gonna go to hockey game, fuck that now. im good thanks for saving my life

Go to one, they are an absolute blast!

wait wait wait... i'm the one that said hockey pucks... i think in all fairness, i saved your life. :p Typical likwid, takin all the credit... :nono:

    :D

Hey, I'm the one that brought up hockey in the first place.
