    Saturday

More like 12 hours. He's riding a Yamaha.
  2. Welcome! I just checkd out the link to your book. I might just have to get a copy of it.
  3. He's not the brightest bulb on the tree sometimes.
  4. More important than knowing where the road goes, I liketo see the lines that more experienced riders take through the curves.
  5. I'm not claiming to be faster or better, maybe safer though. Early on this season, I scared the crap out of a friend that's a veteran rider, on his ZX6R, while I was on the 250. It was mainly because he didn't know the roads, but honestly, I didn't know them all that well either. I tend to ride a little harder when I have someone else with me.
  6. And he wasn't on the brakes hard going into turns, or kicking it sideways. His bike wasn't lowered, either.
  7. Meh... I'm not going to argue with you there, it doesn't matter if you're faster than I am, I'm fine with the pace at which I ride for the street. I can tell you for a fact that I do get better almost every time I go out on some twisty roads. The past 3 weekends I've been down a couple of the same roads, and my turn-in is much better, less standing on the brakes coming up to the curves. I wish I had thought to track the time spent on segments to see how I'm really doing. One day I will start doing track days, but probably not for a couple years, due to having a growing family. These little guys aren't cheap!
  8. MidgetTodd makes thing weird. It seems that I've seen that somewhere before.
  9. This is just more proof that there should be a test to be allowed to reproduce. Somebody in her life has seriously messed her up. Bad parenting, drugs, something.
  10. Removing the inner fenders frees up a lot of space as well! I did a V8 swap on a 4X4 S-10 not long ago. It had a 2 or 3 inch body lift that made it a really nice fit!
  11. Your solution has been posted here before: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1C-Bxifv2Pk
  12. V4 Hon-duh's, Fonzie. I'm hesitant to "like" Hon-duh's, due to my dislike of their cars. I'm finding that the bikes are a totally different story, though.
  13. But then you wouldn't have need the additional turning room, and it wouldn't have even been something to go back and laugh about now!
  14. Neither of my bikes go much over 100. He can hit at least 200!
  15. He needs the bike. We still didn't make that trip back to apple valley to "check out" that driveway...
  16. So you've been on 3 CSBA rides. Any other spirited group rides, through some twisties? It sounds like you have gotten a taste of how much fun it can be, and that the Katana is probably limitiing you, but more because it is lowered. Put it back to stock, and ride it for a while. It is a faster bike than I ride, and I seriously don't think you're faster than me through the turns. The time I rode with you on the CSBA ride, you blew past me on the straights, but you didn't have any corner speed. I'm not saying you suck, as much as saying that you have a lot more to learn than you think you do. I'm a newbie still at the end of my second riding season. I have a LOT to learn, lot's of good habits to develop, things that I know work, but just don't come naturally to me. The guys around here DO know how to ride, and many of them ride really well. I'm sure many of them would be happy to give you pointers while out on a group ride. I also bet that if you chill out, and seriously ask, you could get help with bringing your bike back to stock, and setting up the suspension. Your bike is not your limitation, how you use it is your limitation.
  17. I hope! If I get a fast enough bike, I can stop wearing my helmet, and start riding in flipflops, Metallica t-shirt, and shorts!
  18. That's it. I'm ready for a big bore bike after 2 seasons on a Ninja 250 and a 500. That is all.
  19. I know where there are 2 Fiero's that could probably be had for a reasonable amount! Both V-6, one auto trans, one 4-speed (which is an overdrive, btw.) Both run.
  20. Wow! I didn't know I had that much influence! Thanks a lot. I must really suck. I've been riding a whole year longer than you, and have no where NEAR the skills that you do. Seriously. This. ^^^ Good, that will keep you squid Suzuki riders from giving the rest of us that don't know how to ride a bad name.
  21. Scottie, how long have you been riding on the street? Off road experience doesn't count. I'm going to guess less than 2 years. That's not long enough to outgrow your bike, unless you ride hard on some serious roads every day. Commuting doesn't count, unless you commute through some "good" roads.
  22. I can't believe that I'm agreeing with STT-Brian!
