  1. yes i went over all this with you yesterday. the day after i posted looking for a frame i got all the title work, registration and shit cleared up and even before that i have my lisence. its really not that tough to comprehend

I know you're gonna think I'm an ass for saying it, but things would be easier to comprehend with better spelling and grammar. Just saying....

    License.

  2. the people picked up last summer were not racing when the bust occured, and nobody got stuck with anything except linn because he ran and didnt make it....

you couldnt profile people like that saying if youre in a group the penalties should be worse...repeat offenders maybe, but still even that argument doesnt apply to this thread....i dont see one person here defending street racing....everyone was throwing a stink about the part that was already dropped...since that part is dropped, everyone should be thrilled and this thread really has no purpose anymore...

I think I'm talking about an older instance, but when it's something that obviously organized as some of them are, as long as it can be proved, harsher penalties from the get go. The tough thing is, the burden of proof. Anyway, I agree that this thread has seemed to have run it's course.

  3. What I've heard is that insurance companies are very upset with the additional work load, dealing with all the "proofs of". The percent of people receiving these requests is pretty high. My opinion is that they are using freeway cameras to capture license plate numbers, and using those to send out requests. That way they know the vehicle was driving, and when. But I'm guessing at that. It's the way I would do it.

They COULD attach it with the red light cameras! I have progressive, and I believe you can print out the require proof from their website. I haven't needed it since I've been with them.

  4. flounder you're incorrect. but thank you for the input. to zorro again i can apologize for the misunderstanding and communication breakdown on both parts. none the less it taught me to be Extraordinarily clear so thank you.

yeah sorry putty the gloves went quicker than i expected as well

jporter, let me know what you decide. i've posted these items plus more on craigslist as well.

I'm thinking I might be ahead to get one from Iron Pony, since I got a couple gift cards for them for Christmas. I don't have the cash to go blowing on it right now. If something changes, I'll let you know, and I have no qualms about dealing with you, as long as the terms are agreed upon upfront, as part of the deal, as I'm sure you don't want that whole mess again!

  5. yea but it was based on the part about being able to get picked up for not blending in with traffic....if people are legitimately street racing, perhaps they deserve to lose their vehicle if caught.... if youre man enough to risk lives, youre man enough to accept the consequences

I can see it in some of the more serious cases, such as the ring that got busted up a few years ago that was blocking off sections of I-71 for their racing. Or for repeat offenders that show no interest in righting their ways....

  6. How about don't ride it. The correct alternative that is being ignored...

This is where I point out that the state of Ohio has started sending out requests for proof of insurance on vehicles, at random (or so they claim). In one case asking for seven years of proof, from the day the guy bought the vehicle...

I got one asking for proof of insurance on a vehicle. I have insurance all the time on everything I ride or drive, of course... but it was still a pain in the butt.

I got one of those one time, and I didn't have insurance! Fortunately, it was when the car was broken, and at the shop for about a month (I only worked on it after hours when I would get the time to) so I had my boss write me up a letter stating the fact, and sent that, along with a copy of the invoice for the parts I was putting on it. I could've had him do that even if I wasn't working on it, but it worked out that I wasn't lying! That's the only time I've gotten one of those letters.

I wonder how random they are? The only other one I know of got one when they weren't covered, so I wonder if ins co's inform the state when someone drops coverage, and then they send out a letter some random time later to see if they got coverage again?

  7. that mean you get screwed outta bday presents too like me , since its just a couple days before xmas. Sucks dont it

At least that's what they TELL you.... We all know that nobody likes you...

I never seemed to get much, and my birthday is in the middle of the summer, nearly a month away from any holidays! Yup, I know they don't like me, and I'll keep it that way!

  8. musta missed the update where driving in a way that wasnt consistent with other traffic was dropped....now its back to the same thing we have pretty much, but worse penalties... i dont think youre going to be speeding side by side with someone down an on ramp exceeding the speed limit unless youre for some reason acutally racing down an on ramp

The other thing that was a big point in this thread was the provision allowing seizure of the vehicle.

  9. its the uninsured and still riding (not now, but you were) thats got there panties in a bunch.

IF you were to wreck with no insurance, ALL of us would pay for your stupidity.

Just for reference, most insurance policies are based on the year, and take into account the months that you wouldn't be riding, based on zip code, at least that's what a little birdy told me. The ins. co. said it wouldn't save me any to drop in the winter months, but maybe that's because my bikes are so cheap to insure....
