  1. To do it properly you DON'T bracket, but actually shoot for proper exposure in each area ("spin the dial"). So trying to keep this simple, if we're talking 3 shots as an example you want your typical "0" exposure, you want one that more properly exposes shadows and one that more properly exposes highlights. Bracketing doesn't guarantee proper exposure in any outlying area. With bracketing you may be shooting -2, 0, +2 when you really want -1, 0, +2.

I knew a guy who used HDR for real estate type photography. The guy was amazing, everything he shot looked real not over done. The cartoony stuff I'm not much of a fan of.

    Excellent points....

  2. Thats kinda weird about just 3 manufacturers. I know theres alot of bad reviews for Diehard on some internet forums, yet good reviews for Duralast and Interstate.

I just replaced my OEM Interstate in my Nissan Pathfinder this past week, that lasted me nearly 10 years before it finally died. I just replaced it with a Duralast from autozone with a 3 yr replacement warranty.

Just because one company manufactures batteries for several companies doesn't mean that they're all the same! Each company has a different set of specs that they have to be built to. Kind of like the Ford Explorer and Firestone tires deal. The tires that failed were those that were built to Ford's specs, by Firestone.

We carry Interstate at work, and the warranty is great. We also get SOME Carquest batteries. Both do very well.

I AM questioning the Interstate that's in my car however, as my tester (not just a load tester) is saying to replace it, although it's still working well, even with having some extended cranking on it the other day to build oil pressure to the timing chain tensioner from having it apart.

  3. I'm trying to get my CAR to go that far! I have one that had over 215,000 on it, before I swapped the egine out for a bigger one (still was running, all original miles) and now the other one, I have to do some work to, at almost 180,000. I'll start a thread about it when I get chilled out about it....

  4. I was watching this movie and at the end the dude "fabricated DNA" all over the place.

Porn doesn't count in this discussion...

That just goes to show that just like software piracy, someone will always find a way to crack EVERYTHING.

  5. the 06 and newer dodge trannies are good

Time will tell! Aren't they the 45RFE? Oh wait, they call it the 545RFE. I'm not a big fan of that one, but they do seem to be holding up better than the 42, 44, & 46RE's. I've only had to rebuild a couple of 45RFE's so far. I'm just not exactly happ about Dodge right now. It's been a long week, and I'm still "walking", almost ready to get the bike back out, and put some snow tires on it.

  6. I've worked on them all, push button, manual hubs, combinations of both, and they ALL have problems. The older (88-98 or so) Chevy axle actuators were known to fail, the Ford pooper duty lockout hubs get bound up and you have to get pliers out, since the vaccuum part hardly ever works. Then Dodge can't build a transmission....

  7. And no, I didn't burst into flames immediately after walking through the doors.

    THAT is shocking!

I'll be watching this thread out of curiosity, I've never tried any HDR stuff...

What kind of camera are you using?

You may want to check out POTN as I'm sure it is discussed over there. If you don't have a Canon, act as though you do!

  8. Not goin anywhere until one of the 2 is fixed. Both bikes have something wrong with them, and my car is broken, too....FML. We have 5 vehicles and only one of them road worthy. I guess I should spend more time on my own vehicles once in a while! I have the know-how, it's what I do for a living for pete's sake!

  9. get him a ticket to ohio so he can attend the dtc/ohio riders winter bash this coming month.

THAT would be rock bottom.

The other day at work, I heard this from across the shop while Chevysoldier was playing it, and thought it sounded pretty good, then he let me in on the back story. Pretty cool stuff!
