  1. Holy old thread batman!

Yes, I voted. Went around noon, in and out, no wait. There are less than 500 people in my precinct that voted this year, it seems. There were a couple local things I wish I had done more research on, as I wasn't so sure, and had to read the ballot a little bit, although in hindsight, I think I hit all the right buttons anyway.

I always knew that my vote counted, but thought that ONE vote isn't going to make any reall difference, but then the "what-if" came into play. What if everyone that agrees with what I do thought the same way? What then? The more votes the better, and the better indicator of what "We the people" really think!

Lastly, I was surprised at some of the local results (other areas of the county, not my precinct) after all the whinig people have been doing about some of the elected officials, and then they turn around and vote them back in! Some of them were uncontested, even. I haope I don't hear any more whining from these people!

  2. And now that you mention THAT, earlier this summer I kept seeing some girl on a pink scooter with a pink helmet. It a teenage kid, doubt she travels between Johnstown and Coshocton.

I've seen that girl around on her scooter! I think I might have skeered her one day (on my lowly 250 at that) by "following" her. She just happened to be going down the road that the shop is on, which passes by my house. She was riding pretty fast even!

  3. From what I've read abbout the topic, WD-40 itself is not bad for the chain, but the propellant in the aerosol can is bad for the O-rings. Basically, if you were to get the WD-40 in the squirt bottle, it SHOULD be ok.

It's sounding like your chain was wearing out anyway, since it's to the point of significantly stretching over a couple hundred miles, and the WD-40 aerosol might have been causing the binding, due to failing O-rings. From what I've read, the chain lube is more just to condition the O-rings, so that they hold in the factory filled lube.

From what I've read, WD-40 does NOT damage o-rings or x-rings....

HOWEVER, the propellant in the can supposedly does. This is just what I've read, I'm not sure if it's 100% true but it made sense to me.

Ahem... I think typing cat was too busy typing to read the thread, either that or he has me on ignore :dunno:

Here's a link from the ninja 250 riders site, they have some really good info there, and not all is specific to the 250. : http://faq.ninja250.org/wiki/How_do_I_clean_the_drivechain%3F

  4. I'm way more random about it than I should be. Maybe every 6-800? I think Kawi says 500 miles on the 250, not sure what Hon-duh says about the interceptor. I think anywhere around 500-1,000 is fine, as long as you're not riding in the rain a bunch, washing the stuff off.

  5. Hmmm, I have never heard that before. I was using the aerosol can and switched to a big ol' can of the stuff near the end of the year. I knew the chain was shit.

How about good ole kerosene for cleaning the chain? I'm thinkin gthat I read that was fine. I really should clean my chain before I lube it the next time (both bikes) as it's getting quite filthy!

  7. And don't be punching that pillow with my picture on it.

That thing cost $12.99. Geez. :D

You mean this one  :

Eh, crap, I shouldn't have.... Nevermind.

PM for the funny pic, as I don't want to trash this thread.....

Ok, after enough comments, I need to put the pic back so people know why I have that pic in my album.

  8. Is this like the old bull and the young bull story?

But seriously, central Ohio has always had a great local band scene. I have seen quite a few that have should've made it big, that have more talent than some of the one's that have made it big.

I have a friend that has been in a few local bands, and he has recorded quite a few local bands in his studio, one of which is getting national (top 40 station) airplay, and is on MTV from time to time.

  9. +1. I can get all-you-can-eat pizza for < $7. For $7, I don't think I'd walk away from Taco Bell hungry - and still have food left over. There's a lot of other food places where you'd get more 'value' or $7. Don't get me wrong, Chipotle is good, but I don't think you're getting a deal, especially since it doesn't fill me up. Then again, I can pound two subs from Subway and be slightly full (yes, I am a glutton).

And the margins on food that basically has all the same ingredients has to be ridiculous.

Plus you have to factor in the costs of all the "Chipotle-away" you have to buy to save your underwear.

Holy cow man! 2 Subway subs? Glutton? Uh, something like that! For $7 at Taco Bell, I'd be borderline getting full, not to mention, I would need something stronger than "Chipotle - away" to clean my underwear after eating that much from Taco Bell.

I agree with you that the margins have to be ridiculous. At least I don't see their good food going away very fast, with the margins they have to be taking in, and the popularity of their product!

  10. When I bought my Interceptor, the tires were both new. Front one wouldn't hold air, turns out to have a small nail in it. I plugged it. At first I was a little scared of it, but it holds air, no shaking or anything (after balancing it) and i don't ride all that fast for very long either. So, I had almost forgotten about it being plugged, and I don't normally think of it when I'm on the bike. I'm still going to replace it early, instead of letting it wear down all the way, but I don't ride in fear of it.

  11. I don't understand how this place is still in business. the food is good but it's not like you have a selection of different stuff.:dunno:

just the very basic toppings etc. and the price now...holy shit. $7 for a burrito?

For the amount of food you get at the price you pay, it's a STEAL! If you go to any fast food place and get anything other than stuff off the dollar menu (in which case, you either go away hungry, or spend too many dollars) you will nearly as much, if not more. For me to go to Arby's is around $10. Sure, I don't need to eat that much, and probably shouldn't, but I can, and I do!

Basic toppings? That's what I like the best! They are basic, and fresh! They make the Guacomole in each store, everyday. I think the simplistic approach is what I like best about chipotle!

    /rant

    I'm getting hungry now......
