Drive into Yellowstone from Cody was beautiful. Park is not very busy at all. We are now waiting for Old Faithful to do something.

Pretty excellent day today. Early round trip on Spearfish Canyon Rd. Saw some dead people and the geographical center of the US. Ran 90 over to Buffalo WY and ran 16 west. What an amazing road and views. Spending tonight in Cody WY. There is a rodeo tonight we may go to.

Tim must be unlucky. When we did the Iron Butt we had a 40 mph wind from the side from Davenport to 90 and then as a headwind the rest of the way. It sucked. Saw a really grim road kill today on 90 near Murdo. This massive steer. 2 state workers were there with a flatbed trying to figure out how to load it. Pretty sure they are going to need a lift truck or end loader. It was huge.

Parked for the night in Rapid City SD. Fuck the wind on I90 westbound. Happens every time. My old skinny arms are sore as hell and Jesus did it kill the mpg's. I lost abot 50 miles per tank. Still a great day. Cool iron sculptures, prairie dogs and awesome views. Still a long way to go but we are getting there and having a blast.

Interesting stop at a Sinclair gas station. 5 grades of gas. 15, 30, 50 and 85 Ethanol. Only low test 10 percent. Glad I don't need premium.

Day one is over. Made it to Joliet IL, and of course we are at a casino. Major rain near South Bend. More reasons to hate Indiana.
