  1. So you tell them a bike model that the tire is actually for. 🖕 IP
  2. First good comment from you this entire thread. I have paged the ghostly one.
  3. Going to have to give this round to @jbot He has @2talltim back pedaling like crazy now.
  4. And I will add to the above. If you could load the front trail braking and magically NOT increase the patch size you would have the same grip if you did load it and increased the patch size.
  5. Yes, but both half's of that statement are needed. MORE weight on a larger contact patch will of course increase grip. Which is what you just described. What we are saying is the same weight on two different contact patches is the same grip. This is unfortunate, it appears we are both correct. Just different circumstances.
  6. Grip is the friction between the tire and the road. The friction is based on pounds per inch. More area equals less pounds per inch but the overall pounds per inch is a constant. Math and physics are very clear in this. Trail braking is to preload the front tire. You have to load the tire before you work the tire. You are putting more weight on the front before you turn hard.
  7. That is exactly where I was at with it. Mid-Ohio was awesome for a noob like me. Very structured novice program to keep you out of trouble, get you learning and still put a giant grin on your face.
  8. I think it is more accurate to say the friction/grip of a tire does not change when the contact patch size changes. Physics.
  9. I ran an FZ6 for a couple of track days, and as a novice I did not feel it was lacking...but could certainly tell it was not a long term option as my abilities advanced. Then I wrecked it. But it was a blast those two times and a free way to find out if the track is for you.
  10. And it's a tire thread! A wider tire will be slower to tip in. Change to a wider tire may also make the bike "push" and not corner as well. I am going to go with the Aussie engineers that picked your tire size know the geometry of the bike better than a bunch of asshats on Ohio Riders.
  11. And we lose another one to the track. I predict a trailer and full on track bike by spring. Hell, maybe before winter. Barber has a day coming up I believe.
  12. Outstanding day, the Epic Ride is still epic. @Pauly please note that Gary posted above that the pace was PERFECT.
  13. You can warm your hands, one at a time, by laying them next to the rear cylinder.
  14. No layers needed. Turn the seat, grips, jacket and gloves up or down as needed.
  15. You can try mine But don't do it unless you want to buy immediately, because you will.
  16. Damn you man. I already bought one, we were gonna fill it with dick picks and give it to him.
  17. You are correct but a minor point of clarification. Citizens United made is so companies can pour millions into elections just like unions do. Not anti Union at all but if unions are people then corporations are people too. Unfortunately that is a big part of who we are, everyone should be treated equally, even if the are asshats.
