  1. Haha true, but it was still input. They are honestly a lot nicer than I thought they'd be. It's still a "Jeep", and the inside of the hard top is white, which bugs the hell out of me. But the ride was surprisingly smooth, and the dash really isn't too bad at all. It is on really small dorky stock tires though lol.
  2. Just put a deposit on a 2013 Sport with auto, A/C (how is this not standard?), hard top, connectivity group (bluetooth/satellite radio and schtuff). Hopefully I'll be able to pick it up Thursday. I really wanted a Sport S and 3.73 axle ratio but this had MOST of what I wanted, and I didn't have to order it. Plus I got a pretty decent price since it's a 2013. I looked up prices of the Sport S wheels/tires on message boards and they're really cheap, Rubicon wheel/tires are pretty cheap too. People seem to just take them off as soon as they get their new Jeep, so I'll make that my gain. The 3.21 should be good enough for tires that size, if I decide to go big (35's or something) in the future, I figure I'll want 4.10's anyway. So not EXACTLY what I wanted, but pretty darn close, and cheaper too. This is my first brand new vehicle, so I'm pretty pumped. Thanks everyone for the input!
  3. Do the hipsters still congregate there? It's within stumbling distance of my old place so I used to go occasionally. Mostly back when they had a little mini ramp inside and you could watch drunk people fall on their asses all the time.
  4. Drive yours out here to Cali and sell it to me!
  5. Yeah, I was referring to what it would cost to get a 4x4 Pilot. The Jeep I'm looking at is a new 2013 4x4. If I had the budget to get both, obviously I would. But I've got to have one. With the Jeep I can take the top off, throw the wife and dogs in, and go out to Big Sur and have a nice day cruising around, camping, whatever. With the FR-S, we'd have to leave the dogs at home, and worry about me going all boy racer and getting tickets all the time. I'm not worried about scratches etc. on a new Jeep. It's a Jeep, that's what it's for. I plan on keeping it for a loooong time. Something my kids will remember when they grow up, from when they were little. Plus, if everything works out out here in Cali, I'll have some fantastic career opportunities after my first enlistment is over...I hear the 3 letter agencies like to pay linguists LOTS of money :megusta: Funnily enough, I drove an '07 yesterday. I wanted to try out both the manual and the automatic, and all they had in manual was an '07. That thing felt like a completely different vehicle next to the new ones. They're definitely a lot more livable now.
  6. To be honest, I'm not ACTUALLY considering the FR-S. I just see them all over the place out here and imagine it would be a ton of fun to cruise up and down the coast in one. I really don't think the dogs would enjoy it as much as a Jeep though. So truthfully, I'm just looking for input on the Wrangler. I know that in 2012 they had some issues with the cylinder heads, but as far as I can tell these newer JK's seem to be pretty stout.
  7. Wait, you bought one in San Jose, California? Or you bought one that was similarly equipped? If you bought the exact one I'm looking at, I'm going to be a sad panda lol. Either way, the only thing I'm bummed about is that it doesn't come with the 3.73 rear axle ratio.
  8. You're not helping me be sensible! I'm just afraid if I get an FR-S I'm going to want to mod it like I ALWAYS do with tuner cars I buy. And I know I can't make it substantially faster without dropping big bucks. Plus I'd like to have something the wife could drive too. She can drive manual if her life depended on it, but she really doesn't like to, and I wouldn't buy anything but a manual FR-S. Ehh...the 4x4 starts at like $31k and the Jeep I'm looking at is $26. Plus I like the "attitude" of the Jeep. Being able to take the top off, and have something that's somewhat "exciting" is appealing. Otherwise I'd say screw it and get an Accord (I do really like the new ones). Yeah, they had an optioned out one at the dealership. I was never a fan of them, always thought they looked too...bulbous? But seeing one up close, very nice SUV. I actually really like the Wrangler too. I mean the interior is nothing to write home about, but I've never had a car with a "nice" interior. So it's not really of any concern to me. All I need is bluetooth for hands free calling out here in California.
  9. So I'm about to pull the trigger on a new Jeep Wrangler. I'm looking at a 2013 that's still on a lot out here in Cali. It's a Sport S, auto transmission, hard top, bluetooth connectivity group, power convenience group, and maybe some other stuff. But I keep seeing FRS's all over the place out here. I haven't test driven one, and I'm afraid to because I'm afraid I'll jump ship from the Jeep dive head first into the FRS. I'm wanting the Jeep because I feel like it'll be perfect for my wife, our 2 dogs, and I. We aren't planning on having kids for a while, but I just couldn't see myself buying some normal sedan. I've also never had anything but small sporty cars, so I'd like to change it up. Do any of you have any input on the new Wranglers? Also, convince me that thinking about an FRS is stupid. My dogs won't fit...right?
  10. Had he thrown the ball when the receiver was breaking out of the route, instead of after, he would have gotten the pass off.
  11. I'm not saying I think he'll actually do that. But I am starting to drink the Kenny G Kool-aid. I feel like he might really deserve a legitimate shot at leading this team on the field, even if Miller comes back. Maybe Miller just doesn't have the leadership skills that he should.
  12. Miller and Guiton are apparently both on the depth chart as starters this week. Miller needs to drop bombs on the Badgers, or take a medical redshirt and let Smooth Jazz have his year.
  13. Early accounts are that it actually runs a little better on PS3. Also, rumor has it that Sony will be doing a sort of upgrade system. If you buy a game for PS3 and it later comes out on PS4, you get it on the cheap.
  14. I'm hopefully shipping from Texas to California this week...could not be a worse week to do so.
  15. Derek is the troof! He treated me great a while back when I took my car to him at his old job. Didn't know me from Adam and gave me great service.
  16. I read that Urban said we'd use the same helmets as last year, so it'll likely be an away version of the Michigan uniforms from last year. I know it isn't "traditional", but I LOVE those helmets!
  17. Stimmel No way man! You can't sell it!
  18. It's a cop-out, but at times they most definitely did. Today, I think we saw both what they're capable of being, and what they were last year/are. If they can turn that on all the time...They'll be pretty damn unbeatable.
  19. I know this is probably a long shot, but here goes. I'm currently stuck at Lackland AFB in San Antonio. I'll be here until the end of September and I really need somewhere to watch Ohio State games. I don't have a car, but I can deal with the annoying hobo's on the buses, and cab fare, if it means I can watch Ohio State. So do any of you know of a place in San Antonio that would be Ohio State friendly?
  20. Don't get me wrong, I've subscribed to a conspiracy theory or two in my time. And there may even be one going on with the Boston bombing, but it isn't this. There are pictures of the Craft guys still carrying their backpacks after the explosions, that all of those infographics seem to just want to ignore.
  21. If Tom Romero doesn't take care of all of your issues, I work at SEA Ltd. We do a lot of fire investigation and deal with insurance people on a daily basis. I don't actually deal with any of that, I do safety testing on candles (should have trimmed your wick and not left it unattended ), but I can get in touch with people that might be able to answer questions for you.
  22. Surprised no one has posted this yet. http://ohio.tenthamendmentcenter.com/2013/02/13/ohio-bill-would-prohibit-firearm-seizure-forced-registration-and-potential-ban/ Lets get this passed instead.
  23. I'd say you were pretty close at 19k. I paid 22k for mine (09) back in the summer of 2010 with 15k miles on it. Also, the more extreme engine issue (they can all have ring land issues on the shitty stock tune) was specifically in the first couple months of production . I'm on mobile or else I'd do the research for you on the exact dates. I believe they fixed it before the end of 08 (model year 09) though.
