  1. He did the fork seals for my antique Gpz and now it rides like a different bike. Nice solid feel from the front end as it glides down the road. He even got the anti-dive working on it too! Most amazing of all was the speed that he got it done with. Even took me to school on motor oil telling me a few things that I didn't know about the different grades and wet clutches. Oil is not just oil. The price was right, money well spent. Thanks Ryan!
  2. I haven't seen many Goldwings with hitches and riders that are towing trailers here. A few Goldwings, but not so many trailers. To be fair haven't been on any camping trips with the OR peeps. What I have seen is most of the OR touring folks seem to get by with saddlebags and the occasional rear case. More of a sport touring style rather than with a trailer which is splitting the definition a bit I admit.
  3. And I just got a set of these a couple of weeks ago. Had I known I would have saved a couple of bucks and bought yours! On the plus side I can report that they mount easily and work really well! GLWTS
  4. Looks pretty nice. The lighting is just right too!
  5. Pull all the fuses and measure: Measure from the + terminal of the battery to ground, key off. Measure from the + terminal of the battery to ground, key on. Replace the fuses one at a time and: Measure from the + terminal of the battery to ground, key off. Measure from the + terminal of the battery to ground, key on. This will tell you if you have a short and which side of which circuit it is on. Yea, it's slow and cumbersome but it is definitive. Get a wiring diagram for your bike and post it to this thread.
  6. On the three wire connector. Tthe gray fat wire in the three wire connector as that is your tail light +12. Black with white stripe wire in the three wire connector is ground White with the black stripe is your brake light +12.
  7. After another look it has to be the license plate light. The three wire connector has to be the tail/brake light. Take a gander at the wire color change after the connector.
  8. Red to +12 on battery Black to ground on battery Blue to live wire when ignition on. Looks like this goes to the relay to activate it. So you could tap into any wire that is live with the key on. With that said even if the wire isn't being used it should still be live. they say "While the clip on the small white connector is on top, tap the wire to the left. See picture below." Notice the connector only fits one way. Do like they say and hold it right side up. Which if I'm seeing this correctly is really a brown wire before the connector and a black wire after. Which I'm guessing is what used to go to the stock license plate light. If so, tap into the brown wire. The other one, black with a white stripe is the ground side of the license plate light. Or tap into the gray fat wire in the three wire connector as that is your tail light +12. Black with white stripe wire in the three wire connector is ground White with the black stripe is your brake light Double check the directions to make sure I'm understanding the wiring correctly but it looks pretty straight forward. Hope this helps
  9. LOL! Now that's funny I don't care who you are!
  10. I'd much rather spend the day riding the bike than working on it.
  11. OUT! I have some weird choke problem. Imagine that on a 30 year old bike...
  12. Sounds like your on to something here. Also keep in mind that vitamins work on food so the best time for them is meal time. Don't forget vitamin "D" a recent study says we all are at low levels. I blame violent video games for keeping us out of the sun. In any case you don't have to live in a third world country to suffer from a deficiency. Lifestyle issues like to much fast food and not enough of the good stuff could explain a lot.
  13. Potassium in bananas is good for muscle spasms. Conversly getting lettuce and tomato on your burger does not qualify as a food group.
  14. Peripheral neuropathy - numbness of the extremities. (Feet, hands) Neuropathy is very common. There are many types and causes. Often, no cause can be found. Some nerves diseases run in families. Diabetes is the most common cause of this type of nerve problem. High blood sugar levels over a long time can damage your nerves. Other health conditions that may cause neuropathy are: Autoimmune disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis or lupusChronic kidney diseaseHIVLiver infectionsVitamin deficiency states: Vitamin B12 (Methylcobalamin), vitamin A, vitamin E, vitamin B1 (thiamin)Low levels of vitamin B12Metabolic diseasePoisoning due to heavy metals, such as leadPoor blood flow to the legsUnderactive thyroid glandOther things that can lead to nerve damage are: Broken bone that affects a nerveLong-term, heavy alcohol useGlue, lead, mercury, and solvent poisoningDrugs that treat infections, cancer, seizures, and high blood pressurePressure on a nerve, such as carpal tunnel syndromeBeing exposed to cold temperatures for a long period of time Pressure from bad-fitting casts, splints, a brace, or crutchesBefore you freak out at this list realize that the most common causes are also the most likely such as vitamin deficiencies which are very common with our well balanced national diet of cheeseburgers and fries.

  16. So I'm getting my leaky forks fixed (Thanks Hoblik) and I am looking to buy some fork oil. So I surf over to fleabay and check out 10w fork oil. I gotta admit $18/Qt including shipping (for the cheap stuff) was a bit of a shock! Expanding my search I found a forum where they were saying to use ATF tranny fluid as in Dextron instead. To be fair one guy said to use Mayonnaise but I think he was talking about a 4-wheeler ATV. So my question is what do you use in your street bike forks?
  17. I can't decide if this is a cool bike or more electric vehicle hype. 18. good question. Short answer based on a few bikes, yes you can do it and if done right doesn't hurt anything. I do have to add that done wrong you might be changing out a shift fork. Of course this is all on older bikes. Kinda curious what others will say about the newer sport bikes.
