  1. "The wind is strong" "Ya it sure is a crack-a-lack-in"
  2. That yellow is gonna match perfectly with your baby blue and orange paint scheme.
  3. Might as well do it now. Better than trying to scrounge up yellow duct tape for number plates and making numbers out of electrical tape the morning of a race.
  4. Cleaned out my inbox and sending you a PM about the axle.
  5. I can try to call Chicken Hawk and get a worst-case estimate. Like...if it's too expensive or can't be repaired, how much will the one warmer cost assuming a $50 credit.
  6. I might be interested since I can't make the Putnam round. Either day would work for me.
  7. You could try the trick where you fill that pipe with water and put it in the freezer. The ice expands when freezing and pops the dent out. Read about it over on Thumper Talk somewhere.
  8. Just doesn't heat up. I just went back to Chicken Hawk's sight to read up on the details. This is what it said: All Tire Warmer sets are worth a MINIMUM of $100 even if worthless as a credit towards a new set (only one trade-in set for each new set). The warmers are used like cash, the racer pays a portion of the new set with the old set to be traded in and we need to receive them in order to apply the credit. When I talked to them, they said I could try to get it repaired, and if it wasn't fixable they would take it as credit and allow me to buy just a rear warmer. It was mid-season and I didn't have time to wait for all that, so I just bought a set of used Woodcrafts I found on WERA classifieds. If you don't want to mess around with it I understand, just thought I would throw it out there since they're just collecting dust in my garage.
  9. Ya somewhere in my ramblings that's what I was getting at. $75 for them. One working, the other needs replaced/repaired but seems like Chicken Hawk will work with you. And I have a couple axles/nuts/axle blocks, so shoot me a pm and let me know what you need. I'll get it to you cheaper than you'll find on ebay.
  10. Specifically this...big holes filled with cold patch and what looked like sand. On top of that baseball sized chunks of asphalt that were super loose and getting kicked up by the bikes. I have like 50 pics of horrible track conditions you don't want to see. It didn't help my lap times any. Word on the street is that they're "Hiring a professional to repair the track this week/weekend." Hopefully the rumors are true.
  11. I had the same problem. Unfortunately I'll probably be putting them up for sale cause I just don't see them stretching enough to fit.
  12. I have a set of Chicken Hawk 3 temp tire warmers you could have for pretty cheap. One of them died (front? rear? shit I don't remember) but the other works just fine. I called Chicken Hawk about getting it repaired. Basically they said they could either repair it or they would give me a "trade-in" allowance on a new one. $75 for them and you can see about getting the bad one repaired. It's been awhile since I called, but $75 rings a bell. And what do you mean by the rear spindle? You mean the axle? Let me know how many you need, lol.
  13. I'm with you. I'm not terribly far away, and I walked it Saturday so I have a good idea of where the really bad spots are. I'm sure I could find time to go take a look. Just not sure when I would be able to, maybe check their calendar and go on one of the car days?
  14. I should probably change the oil in Jinu's genny too. I doubt it's been changed since he bought it last year. Other than the initial oil change after break in.
  15. I'm 90% ready. Got new clip-on parts so those are back on instead of the stock ones. Made a new bracket for the brake fluid resevoir. GPR stabilizer is remounted after a rebuild since it leaked all the fluid out at Jennings. (Hopefully doesn't leak for a 3rd time.....) I put new pads and rotors on the front. Last on the list is to change the oil before the weekend and I'll be all set.
  16. It's that time of year. The first round is less than 2 weeks away. Who's in? Who's out? Who's waiting on their suspension? Who's not racing because they fucking knocked their wife up and she's due in the middle of race season? I'm in like Flynn. Probably won't be doing the Friday trackday but I'll be there Saturday and racing Sunday. I'll be doing the 600 sprints, and either the 750 GT or Mini 20 or both?
  17. You're just changing springs and adding fork extenders? Shit, I'da done that for a case of beer and had it done in a day. And not even the expensive shit. A 30 rack of Busch Light would've done the trick.
  18. I just saw that. I'm like...no one wants a hovercraft?
  19. This is what I was getting at. And most of you guys comparing times at PIRC to the cars, remember this. You guys race, most of these guys are just at a trackday. If you want to compare apples to apples, maybe try looking at times the average trackday Intermediate sportbike rider is running. I doubt you'll see many 1000's doing 1:08's. Then compare some lap times to those that actually race their cars. I didn't look at PIRC, but I know times for cars at Nelson are as low as :58, with tons of cars in the 1:01-1:05 range. But yes, they probably spent a lot more money to go that fast.
  20. Cars will always run faster times than bikes will. It's simple, there's 4 tires instead of 2 and they can carry the corners way faster. 1:08 in a modified RX7 sounds pretty weak at PIRC. I work with a guy who did a lot of trackdays in a bonestock (other than sticky tires) S2000. Those cars are not fast by any means. He says he ran 1:04's at PIRC, and I've been in the car with him when he ran 1:14's with it at Nelson. Top speeds into the kink were only about 110-115. That means he is going around the corners A LOT faster than a bike running 1:14's that hits 140+ into the kink.
  21. Got one of these a few months ago along with several coworkers. It's fun to fly them around the big warehouse with 40 ft ceilings. Watch out for drafts though. Fun little toy.
  22. They were riding like dumbasses, but the corner wasn't that sharp. He should've leaned that thing over a little bit and tightened the corner up. Probably didn't have the skills to do that though, so he straightened it up instead and launched himself off a cliff.
  23. Haha just bustin your balls. Off the top of my head, I don't know of anyone that runs #13.
