Keep checking Craigslist, EBay, and of course Cycle Search for some really good deals. With the winter months coming don't rush into buying a bike. Take your time and find one that's perfect for you. Come to the few remaining meetings this year and I'm sure people will let you throw a leg over their bike to get the right feel that suits you.

$170 a month?! Wow. I think it's time you start shopping around. I paid $200 for the year for full coverage on my first bike...although it was a Ninja EX500, and I was over 25 years old. Still, $170 a month is a bit much.
