  1. I rode to go vote around 9am. Not much parking at the fire station so the bike means I don't have to sit and wait for some 80 yo to get the Lincoln backed out.
  2. Same thing Mefzah reported. Long road to recovery.
  3. yeah, but you throw a good party. :-)
  4. Swing, you have an aversion to paying for anything other than beer and ammo.
  5. I had a patched tire go on me while I was in Tellico, TN. I stopped safely but it destroyed the tire as it rolled off the rim before I got stopped. Lucky I trailered the bike there so I wasn't stuck trying to get replacements. Patches and plugs should be temporary use only in my mind. Not worth rider injury in a catastrophic failure.
  6. I've never had to plug a motorcycle tire bit I would only use it as a temporary repair on a bike. Bike tires typically get eaten up faster, are softer and are punished more than car tires increasing the possibility of a failure. IMHO it just isn't worth the risk especially if the bike is high performance and is driven as such.
  7. Put that in the local paper in West Jefferson, London, or Plain city and I bet it would have a lot better chance of selling. I've seen a couple older Kubotas around here that might fit that. Mines already got a bucket.
  8. Go as fast as you want on that police bike, it still won't fit between the trees on the trails I run. I watched the police Harley bike in London fumble at the Cobra event a couple years ago when he hit a bit of gravel when turning. In my mind we could save millions in Ohio if we made all secondary streets gravel roads.
  9. Cheap battery tenders are worth every cent you spend. So far best one I've used is the battery tender Jr. Small, easily read battery light, and doesn't burn out the battery by overcharging it.
  10. Two tire irons and air, all you need. :-) Tubeless tires are even easier.
  11. Honestly Meefzah if far closer to the situation than anyone else and has said the news has made several mistakes in their reports but have the general idea close enough. Thanks to everyone for their well wishes and prayers for Brandon and his family in this time of tragedy.
  12. A friend to many of us who dual sport ride and frequent ADV rider was shot in the line of duty in Monroe county during a bust of a drug growing operation. Right now all we can do is say a prayer for Brandon (AKA Sparkster) and hope for his quick recovery. If you want to make a donation please contact Marion county Sheriff dept.
  13. So the make and model have been confirmed? I only ask because parts of it look just like my enfield 303.
  14. I know that intersection at Powell and 315, It is best avoided even in a car because the traffic is so heavy there and the lanes have no turn only areas. I've heard there are no plans to improve it because the river is on one side and a steep hill is on the other so they can't widen the intersection. I have not noticed any traffic cameras there either so your buddy is probably SOL at this point.
  15. The more I ride the more I think it is best to leave the video camera running all the time to catch the actions of others. I've even thought of making mounts for inside the car. Hope your friend is okay, oddly he might have been better off if he'd laid there acting really hurt. Someone might have at least driven after the car and called in the plate then. But then again it's Powell, they might have tried to hit him again since he was on a sport bike and not a $40,000 hog like the rest of their Dr and lawyer neighbors.

    Darn deer

I just got my leg out of the shop and go for a ride in Southern Ohio to celibrate being back on the bike after 3 months. Darn deer just jump out in front of you, suicidal animals. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XEERQtDX80g Just glad I spoted her before she decided to jump in front of me.
  17. Is that the Wolf Lodge in Columbus?

I hear and have seen exactly what you are talking about. My own story includes several issues including herniated disc, sciatica, broken fibula and blood clots from the surgery. The limited information, misinformation (misleading), billing practices used to circumvent over charging for services and over prescription of drugs based upon the phamacutical marketing instead of real knowledge about the drugs is rampant. It paints a picture of minimally trained and self involved doctors whose real interest is money instead of patients. I am now looking into PT to learn to walk again after being off the leg since July. All I can say to anyone facing an injury or surgery is know what your insurance says' in the fine print and have someone go to each Dr's visit with you to back up what you were told and ask questions you might have not considered. Best of luck in the healing process and remember it is 99% what you put into it.
  19. Just go to ADV rider and start reading ride reports, sometimes it's the writing sometimes it's the pictures that fire the imagination. It's the love of the idea that an end of the pavement doesn't mean an end of the trip.
  20. Hope you like it or figure out you don't before buying one. I figured out he was home after I read the report on ADV, dial up is a bitch.
  21. You might be surprised, I use them on the strom and they come in black so you don't have to look camo. But if you decide you'd like to try before you by let me know and you can stop by on the bike and give them a try.
  22. Well, lets just go with an either or tag. Whoever gets posted the AMA, the Trading post, or the lions den first is it and the game goes on.
  23. Since YSR-Racer-99 seems to agree with the idea of making the tag easier to get the game rolling again might I suggest making the tag something anyone can find Otherwise I suggest everyone beg YSR-Racer-99 to get another location or just go tag the Lions den on I71 at exit 56. If I get the Dr's okay to stop using the crutches I might head out during this week and make the tag official. It has royally sucked having a broken leg and listening to all this bitching about the tag:nono:

Have you tried contacting the attorney general? Might also try to Ohio insurance commission. Seems that there should be some arbitration process available. In the mean time you might wanna check into some form of tae chi or aerobics class to help increase your range and muscle control. Best of luck
