    MJ!

+1 Friday must ride, I'm getting DT's!!! If all goes well tomorrow me and a buddy are going to hit 56 S past Ash Cave to 278 to Nelsonville then depending on how he's doing maybe ride out 78 to 555 and back around.
  2. Yeah, I have lots of friends with BMWs. I have honestly been very underwhelmed with what you get for the $$$$. I'd take a KTM 990 adv over a 1200GS any day. Even if the KLT gas tanks are notorious to rupture and cost $900+ per side. Thanks for the info. I tried a 2004 Connie 1000 once and it was nice except for my feet hitting the fairing when breaking or shifting. Big feet small space. I don't know if the 1400 Connie has the same issue. I guess the zx14 falls into the same catagory and a KTM 990 se. Tons of fun, lots of power, big enough for me to ride it very comfortably, but I wonder how practical it is? But then again I had the same missgivings about the V-strom when I first sat on one.
  3. Yep! You're a cuttie! :tits:
  4. Better get a sadle, sounds like a wild ride tonight!
  5. Ever since Kaw put them out I have had a fascination with the Ninja 1400 and Concourse 1400. Anyone have either and mind doing a rider review??? I'm a tall guy 6'4" and on my buddies CBR1000 my head is past the windshield, because I'm fat too! I always play this game of if I had to get another bike what would it be. These two have me curious.
  6. I assume the TTR125 was dirt only? Starting drill??? Mine kicks over pretty easy. Just got to get used to that compression release. My biggest whine is the jumpy take off. My mechanic swears that they all have that jumpy clutch. As for the V, are you planning on going Wee or Vee? I've been impressed with the handling people get out of the Wee! Not as fast as the Dl1000 but every bit the bike.
  7. or let Sara know he still has them. lol
  8. First "V" New "V" KLR "boat" YZ426 Christy's learner KE100
  9. Welcome DGTL girl, not too far away down 42 from ya.
  10. Naked bikes don't count! lol As of right now there will be at least three girls. My GF (christy) and Pigtails (Becky) who rides enduros and kicks the guys asses! She and her husband are really fun people, we just did a trip to the Tour De Dellico in the Smokies a few weeks ago. If you go to the you tube link you'll see her on her KLR650 in the green Kaw jacket riding the hardest hill they offered that weekend, Squallie. Next Fall there having a Tour De Pisqua on the Eastern side of the Smokies. We're all planning to go!

    Now Hiring

Long drive to a busy part of Columbus for people out this far. I'm still holding out for a job like Claudio in LWR. lol
  12. We need more girls out in the woods! Makes for better sceenery.
  13. That trail was on Kory's ride a few years ago. Awsome area. I think I still have the GPS tracks from that ride.
  14. Sit up and don't lean forword so hard. Good reading and a lot of these principals apply to all motorcycling. I see several of the items mentioned a lot. Especially crossing the centerline and not setting up for a corner properly. Although this is also why I believe it is more fun to go fast on a slow bike that slow on a fast one.
  15. He did a good job. Looks like your ready for a Hare Scramble or enduro. Get some experience in gravel! The Abandond RR bed can get tricky when the gravel gets loose. The creek crossing is no biggie. Just enough to get your feet wet. I need to get out this week and preride things.
  16. I agree a radar detector won't save you from laser but I find it priceless when you head into a small town a little too fast. Perfect example is the town of North Hampton on rt41 West of Springfield. The cop likes to sit near the subway shop just shooting radar and will nail anyone over 35mph. Not a single light in the town and all of 20 houses on the street but I bet he goes through a pad of tickets every day! Modern New Rome.
  17. Oh shit, you got racing numbers on there now!
  18. Me and the kids down in the Smokies last year.
  19. Just curious how many others use a radar detector on their bike and what type. I'm a penny pincher so I have a $50 Cobra. It's loud and annoying but has saved my butt several times. Can't really see the lights except at night but it's cheap enough I won't go bullshit if someone stole it.
  20. It's June 20th, sorry for the confusion. I've never raced but my friends keep trying to talk me into doing an enduro. I'd love to do the Peace Pipe in Greenville this fall. People fall off their bikes when they see a guy riding a big 650cc in an enduro. One of my friends got 1st place in Senior B on his KTM 640 year before last (07'). He was more surprised than anyone else. More to the point I like technical riding but am not much of a speed demon. But I am still learning as well and am only an intermediate rider in comparison to some of the people I ride with. But that's why I ride with them. You don't get better unless you try new stuff and push the envelope a bit. (At least that's what they tell me:D)

    free air?

Can you rephrase that? Maybe patching tires, replacing tubes, or knows how to use his gear. Blowing tires sounds so........
  22. I guess I should post it up here that June 20th I will be having a get together for a new and experienced DS riders at my place North of London. If you'd be interested in coming out I have a thread on ADV about it. http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=471913 It will be a good chance to meet other offroad riders and get pointers on riding form some really good people. I hate to guide people away from here but with the posting limit I can't respond to individuals in a timely fashion. I know, 12hrs, it's in the rules. LOL
  23. +1 on the quadbillies. LOL There are a few trails near Nelsonville that are, well, not official Wayne trails. Sounds like we need to meet up sometime. I'm tied up Saturday but maybe Sunday I could sneak down? I'll have to get back to you on that. Are you Zerocrash on ADV too?
  24. Well, feel free to drive out if needed and the party doesn't end till it ends. I really like the Tar Hollow area for the simple reason that there are not as many quads out to tear up the trails and dig 4ft deep mud holes like you find at Perry. Plus it's closer to me. I'm looking forword to getting the 426 down to Tar Hollow sometime now that it's street legal.
