Who let you in here Craig? LOL You gonna make it out the 20th?
-
Thanks Zerocrash, I'll try to post up here as adv rides come up. That WR250 is becoming a popular machine real fast. I have three friends who've bought those just this year. From the pictures i saw of you jumping you got some skillz! Hope you two can make it out on the 20th and meet some of the other DS riders. Can't wait till my GF gets good enough to go ride tar hollow, wayne or Perry.

I looked on the Walmart web and couldn't find the $10 Campbell air pump that I have. I'm sure there's some out there though, and they'll put upto 100 psi in! But the guage only last so long, I still double check it. I use mine a lot to air down when I'm running the trails and then air back up before I head home on slab.

July 24th to the 26th.

Nice riding! Those WR250's are becoming really popular. I know three guys who've bought them this year. I bet you get no love in Troy though. Always seems like a sea of chrome over there. :-(

I know it's penny tech but if you use a trickle charger you probably have a quick connect plug already for one of these. If you go to Walmart or Meijers you might find a mini compressor like this slime compresser for $18. If you remove the case you get something like this, Which will easily fit into a small tank bag and maybe even in the tool pouch under the seat. Then you have air whenever you need it. :-)

Sara, that's a great looking bike! Perfect for dual sport riding the trails! Zerocrash is getting some serious air. I'm too big to get up like that even on the YZ426. Where's he riding at in those photos? Is that in Columbus?

I suggest anyone who has been riding for at least 200 miles a month for a month or two sign up for the return rider class. It's the same info as the beginner but in less time and you still get a free pass on the license test and discount on insurance. Discount on insurance is why I took it! Saved three time the cost of the class in one years insurance bill.

Hats off to your wife. I bought a KE100 and just got it back from the shop so that my girl friend could learn on it. Last night she got her first time on it after dinner. I used the same technique that MSF uses and she did great. She stalled it a couple times but quickly learned to add power as she engaged the friction zone with the clutch. Tuesday well be working on start-stop, front rear breaking, manuvering, and shifting up and down. Maybe even a little follow the leader around the yard. If you get a dirt bike make sure it is not an MX bike over 100cc! A 250cc YZ can kick an unexperienced rider to the ground in an instant. I suppose a good list of starter bike IMHO would include a XT 250, KLR 250, DR 250, TW 200, maybe a CRF230F or other <250cc enduro bikes from the 80s' and 90s'. I also believe offroad experience can enhance the onroad ability for almost any rider. Had to add this in as a real cheap answer to the starter bike. Craigs list 110cc $300!http://dayton.craigslist.org/mcy/1208110232.html

Cool, PM sent. 720 minuites till next communication. LOL I wonder if Zero knows any of the other DS riders from ADV? The DS community is growing very fast and connections are invaluable to find out about good riding areas, events, penny tech, and knowledge in riding techniques. I am excited as I just got the KE 100 back home tonight and tommorrow I hope to do some trainning with the GF. I figured it was about keeping spammers off here. Well, I guess I'll be a good Jedi Knight and wait a month or so.
-
Actually there is something The V-strom community needs and if you can weld Aluminum I'd be very interested in chatting with you.
-
I got tired of cages pulling out in front of me. So I made some modifications to my bike. Problem solved!
-
Sorry guys, of the 4 sites I am a senior member on I'd never run into this particular rule, so it seemed odd. Especially if you are trying to influence new riders to get involved. But I supose it's a good way to keep spammers from pming everyone about the newest fat burner. I don't mean a flex fuel car either.

Gremlins don't scare me, but that dam noid scares me bad!!! lol
-
Maybe you should use the US mail. Oh well, maybe they'll find me on ADV rider. PMs for everyone!!!

My $.02 1. ride the route you'll take this weekend so you become comfortable with it. 2. I tell everyone to try to act like you are invisible to others! Half of the idiots who pull out in front of you will say "I didn't see you". Not sure what the idiots who pull into you say. lol 3. ATGATT 4. Park so that your bike takes up the whole spot! or park next to a friend who rides. Cages love to swing into empty looking spaces. Have a good trip! :-) edit , Opps. didn't see the ride was done. lol
-
Bring it on!!! Pm me and I'll get back to you in 43200 seconds.

Look at me I've only been here a day and I'm bitching already! So I was inviting someone and her fiance to come out for a group get together for new and experienced dual sport riders. I set a PM and recieved one back asking for more info. I tried to respond to the PM but aparently need to wait 12 hours before I can reply. So Sara and Zerocrash, I'll get back to you sometime tomorrow. But I hope you can both make it out as there will be some very experienced riders and beginners, male and female. My GF will also be a new rider, so I'll be showing her basic MSF stuff and hopefully some offroad stuff like log crossing on the KE100.

Very nice work there. I also use the VIO POV camera, but keep it on the helmet. I have another camera I mount on the rear. Just made a holder for it after I broke the mount for the second time. Nothing as nice or fancy as what you have but I think it will be relativly bullet proof. We'll see. Sorry this is the best shot I have of the holder at the moment.

Anyone else having issues posting? It said the post didn't work but it's here. ????

Will do, I'll be staying the weekend. So the toy hauler will be my home. lol I was planning on taking the 426 and the V-strom, but might take the KE 100 instead of the V-strom.
