My father (RIP) always called those "Orphans: they lost their pop"... My dogs are good at those. Doesn't seem to bother them when I let one go...

  8. *** UPDATE *** GONE *** Tickets go to Jason, a.k.a. RedRocket As the title implies, I have two tickets up for grabs. It's a school night, so Jr.'s friends can't go. Seats are in section 21, front row, seats 9, 10. Game time 6:35 tomorrow (Monday) night. I can meet you near the left-field entrance (Northeast corner of the park, approximately between sections 25 and 26) around 6:15 or so. Anyone that wants 'em, lemme know.
  9. Saw a post on XDTalk this morning that said Kroger no longer allows concealed carry in their stores. The scan of the letter below looks like it's for the Cincinnati region - I don't know whether the rest of their stores/regions follow the same policy or not. I know someone's wife (sorry, I forget who) works at the Kroger out in Pickerington, maybe she could ask her manager? Anybody know more about this? Please post up facts, not conjecture. It's a felony to carry where the merchant doesn't want you to, and has posted a placard/sticker saying so. I haven't noticed any no-carry stickers at Kroger lately, but I'll be sure to check. If this is so, I'm going to The Big Bird (Giant Eagle) to shop - I think their gas kickback scheme is better anyhow. See a copy of a letter sent to a fellow who was kicked out for carrying. (click) Contact Kroger here and let them know what you think. (click)
  10. My guess: Uppity Armpit or Westerville.
  11. "Otto Orf, Cleveland soccer legend". Cleveland...soccer...legend? Oxymorons are us. No offense to SoccerFan out there, but when I think of Cleveland, the LAST thing I think about, wait, it doesn't even come to mind, is soccer. Kosar left, Cleveland survived. Hell, the entire football team left and Cleveland survived. Many great baseball players have left (C.C., Thome, et al), Cleveland survived. If James leaves, Cleveland will survive. Cavs sucked before his arrival, they'll suck again, and Cleveland will "keep on keepin' on".
  12. I've heard some very loud sportbikes, bouncing off the rev limiter. Hats. Followed two Hardleys last night. Both had temp tags, a Road King with REALLY loud pipes, and his girlfriend was on an FXDLRHWAFD-something. He had to blip the engine multiple times at every stoplight, and once we were up to speed and cruising near the posted 45, he had to "accelerate" from 45 to 55. Only took him 8 seconds!! or so each time, but was accompanied by so much damn racket you would have thought he was doing 110+mph. My 6,000 lb 3/4 ton 4x4 with a lawn tractor in the bed kept up easily, and made lots less noise doing it (even with an AeroTurbine "muffler")... **edit: Rock and roll ain't noise pollution... Just sayin'.
  13. ^^^ put on running clothes, "gotta go, Race For The Cure is starting soon. There's a 20 on the counter for cab fare". You'll look like a good guy, tryin' to save the ta-ta's. No runs, no drips, no errors.
  14. One and done, so to speak, or do you want to "see" her again...? The answer to that determines how to handle things.
  15. Do you play games, other than Freecell or Solitaire, that require any sort of graphics "horsepower"? If not, buy a $20 card, AGP or PCI, it does not matter. What leads you to think the on-board graphics (OBG) is failing? I doubt that the OBG caused your monitor to die. Could have, but I'm 99.9% certain it didn't cause it. If you decide to ditch the OBG and install a graphics card, you'll need to physically put the card in, but leave the monitor connected to the OBG. When you power up, get into the BIOS, somewhere in there you'll be able to disable the OBG and direct the video to your new card. I'm available for assistance tonight, if needed.

Nope, Jbot uses 'creative spelling' on purpose. He <can> spell when he wants to. I had JCrotch and his cousin/brother ZX14 (170mph in a 65) in mind when I posted that particular peeve.
  17. I've had one flash drive fail. I've had one external drive not fail, but was unreadable and no amount of effort got anything back - had to format and it's been fine since. That's just my personal stuff - at work I have drives fail every now and then, but they're always in a RAID array. RAID ain't perfect - I've lost two drives at the same time in 5 or 6 arrays; sometimes you can force one drive back online, replace the other failed drive, rebuild the array, replace the other drive, rebuild - but usually you're dead. For home archiving I would suggest: keep it all on the local drive, attach two external drives, mirror them so they're duplicates of each other. Data is in 3 places. For stuff you absolutely don't wanna lose (midget AZN pr0n, bike manual PDFs, etc.), burn it to glass (DVD).

    .380 shells

Aim Surplus in Middletown shows they have .380 in stock. Local pickup is only on Wednesdays, otherwise need to order online and have it delivered.

Persons with a PhD (or Ph.D. or DPhil) that use the title "Doctor". Attorneys have a J.D. but don't call themselves "Doctor". If you practice medicine (and have an M.D.), then call yourself "Doctor".
