I just bought a 2000 sv myself with 25k on it. In my research they seem to be about bullet proof as long as it's kept on two wheels. The regulator/rectifirer and the cam chain tensioners seem to be the weak links in the gen 1 bikes . I haven't seen a gen 1 dyno 78 rwhp but I've seen them pull 71-73 hp with a gen 2 cam swap. Not saying it's impossible, just from what I've researched . I love mine this far. I'm normally the guy who has terrible buyers remorse and hates to spend money. I haven't had a single ounce of regret or buyers remorse. The 145 miles I've put on the sv have been my most fun 145 miles I've ever ridden. I can't wait to get it to the mountains and the track.

Laptop fit fine in mine, but as you know , it's all going to depend on what size you get/ size of your laptop. Hoblick had a huge 50 or 54 on his multi that would hold two full face helmets side by side,

Chip seal is a wear surface used where people are not really concerned about how it looks. Just that it's a wear surface. Its a process of putting an emulsion over the existing road and then gravel (typically 8s or 9s). The road is then rolled with a rubber wheel roller. When first done, its a mess. After 2-3 plow seasons, most of the loose gravel is gone, but its still not a good motorcycle surface.

I've never been to said metro park, but that doesn't sound like the place to be enjoying twisty roads. That sounds more of a place to check out then scenery.

I am looking for some clip ons for my sv. I'm not sure I want to go this route for sure. Does anyone have any really cheap, or some spares I could stick on and try? I hate to drop 140 bones on some woodcrafts and find out I hate them.

I picked up a 2000 sv650 today. Staintune exhaust, racetech springs and emulators, fox rear shock, and a few other goodies. I love this thing.

Some older honda cars are cable clutchs as well
