    You dont want a rifled barrel. Smooth barrel and rifled slugs so you can use it for shot shells as well.

    My kid knows to lay on the floor under her bed because I will not be shooting that low. Do not worry about your dog, you will be amazed at the insticts a dog has in a situation like that.
