Speed triple it is
No sir. I took what you said and giving a Street a try. You did good job keeping us in sight on yours so I’m going see what it’ll do. If I don’t adjust to it I’m not going to be out anything reselling and getting a Speed.
The seller caved to my offer

The decision has been made and cash removed from the safe. Making a short road trip after work today

Baby is getting dirty just sitting around the shop. Full size passengers only.
Let me take your woman for a ride to see how she likes a full size experience.
She is impatient, she’d get bored waiting for your viagra to kick in

I paid 4500 for my 10 675. Ohlins suspension, STM slipper, arrow exhaust etc.... it has 5000 miles on it. I feel like the seller could have got 5k out of it easily, maybe 5500 for the right buyer.
And how do you like it

1 hour ago, what said:
what year 675 are you looking at, and what is the dealer asking for it if you don't mind me asking?
14 & 15 R models. All at private sellers.
The Speeds I’ve looked at were at dealers
No offense ment but yours is way over priced. It’s a 10 with 23k on it. I’m looking at 15 R’s with 1800-3500 miles for the same money. Found several similar year and miles as yours for half the money.
Pony has a 12 Speed Triple with half the miles for only $500 more than yours.

Ok that extra info is key. Certainly some regulatory hold up. Motocat's theory sound pretty good now.
Yea I’d agree. He said they’ve shown 500 of them in CA since Jan.

EU motorcycle emission standards are higher in the EU than in the US I believe. That is part of why so many cruisers are going away, they don't meet EU standards.
Yea I don’t know. Their theory on that is because the bikes are here just not being released. He said their system shows them in California and has shown them there for some time now. But on hold.

If KTM is having productions problems, they may be doing you a favor.
KTM makes great performing machines, but the ownership experience isn't always as great.
I’ve loved mine. The dealer has tried to get answers and they get no where. The 790 adventures are here but not Duke. They believe it’s a US Emissions issue but not confirmed. They’re out overseas with stellar reviews on the KTM forums but no luck here. KTM had one at the last motoamerica round last season for twins class testing and according to the demo emails it will be on the demo ride trucks. But not releasing for sale. I’m bikeless at the moment and frustrated lol.
Theres a 14 Street Triple fairly close to me I’m going to look at after work or in morning. If the woman is as comfortable on it as she was on the Speed I’m going to most likely take it

Makes you wonder if there isn't some dude sitting at a computer in Austria clicking on cancel and yelling 'Fuck that midget!'
I’m not saying I haven’t considered that

What happened to that KTM you ordered a year or two ago?
Still not available state side. Dealer doesn’t know why. Their allocation keeps getting cancelled. I had them cancel mine and used the deposit I put on it on a side by side.
Thats why I’m looking for a used street or speed now to ride till the KTM makes a state side release.
Im going to go look and ride a street 675 r in morning and probably pick up and run it till the 790 KTM gets here and see how I like the street R by that time then either get the 790 or the new 765 Street R

That’s the kind of info I was looking for Nevin. I’m now looking at both the street and the speed. I like the idea of the street just concerned I’ll be bored with it or miss the power of a liter bike. I’ve not owned anything but liter bikes other than the supermotos for 12 years lol. It will be an adjustment for sure. Sat on a couple of both today. Both feel the same to me sitting on them. She likes the feel of the speed better. Says it’s the most comfortable bikes she’s sat on the back of ever. Only looking at R models in either. Guess I need to go ride them and pick one. A couple dealers around here have used ones. It’ll be one of the two just need to figure out what one.

Gotta keep the ole lady’s butt happy too. She likes cushy

I would also pick the Street. Only things the 1050 does better is straight line speed, and less shifting.
Bigger comfy seat and Ohlins from what I’m seeing too
The street R still doesn’t get Ohlins it get KYB and Showa

I also got to ride both the 2018 Street Triple RS and 2018 Speed Triple RS. Of those, I would definitely choose the Street, but that's mostly down to personal preference and price. And those bikes are both too new to be relevant.
Why would you choose the street over the speed? Would that still be your choice if the street was still a 675? Or is the 765 that much better?

12 Speed Triple R

You could pick up a bike like mine for under $12K and not be bored plus it carries passengers just fine.
Are we talking full size passengers or is the baby back? 😂

My father in law, a city cop. My father, retired sheriffs office drug enforcement.
Both dumped a fair amount of cash into growers and dispensary companies when the medical marijuana thing legalized. They did and continue to do very well. I thought ironic due to their professions.
FWITW. I know not exactly what you asked about but worth a look.
