  1. I've a Rossi .38, black, bought brand new and only used for about 100 rounds. Nice backup carry piece, I would only get rid of it because I'm currently without a semiauto. Just lemme know if you're interested.
  2. Don't feel bad, it was mixing nerd humor with Trumpet fanboyism. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j-tmMfbjIu8

I, for one, welcome our etc...
  4. Welcome. Yay, moar cruisers!!!
  5. This can be one of the hardest things to learn. Hell, I've been riding for years and my Shadow still feels like it's trying to slide out from under me on faster ramps. But, aside from the occasional over-gassed rear slip, it's never actually lost it yet.
  6. INB4 butthurt whining over unfair rep system. Also, Rep pleeze!
  7. I've been there a couple of times in the last month or two, and the service seemed to be faster than it was when I frequented the place years ago. Anyway, you can get a pizza with fucking sauerkraut on it. All other arguments are now invalid.
  8. Two small guitar amps, a giant old-fashioned desk stapler, a large bookshelf, and a ton of paperback sci-fi. Hmm, I could feasibly club zombies with the amps, but the stapler's an old hunk of metal about a foot long- probably my best bet.
  9. The rain was patchy here. I had my mask and a seat-towel in my backpack and didn't need either.
  10. Scooter squidliness is awesome.

Nah, I got it. But that may be because I spent a ridiculous amount of time last session explaining octal, bcd, hex, and the rest to ECET-100 students. It was all at the front of my brain (and my recurring nightmares: "No, 10 is only ten in decimal, in binary it's two. Repeat, repeat, repeat...)

  13. I love my Shadow. My only complaint is that I really want an 1800 instead of my 1100, but I bought this one for $5400 after I'd been riding for about a year and I've never had any real trouble with it. It is moderately heavy (about 600 lbs with a full tank) which can make it a lot for a newish rider. That said, dumping $8,000 on a first bike is a really bad idea. Get him a $900 UJM and let him ride that for a year. By that point, he should have enough experience to know exactly what he wants (and the skill to not do thousands of dollars of damage falling over at a stoplight).
  14. I agree. I don't have any real reason to stay around if a crash leaves me unable to do the few things I actually like about being alive. So, if I make a mistake and crash hard, I'd just as soon stay down. I also have a living will to make sure I don't spend the next 20 years being a turnip. In the end, I think to wear or not wear a helmet needs to be a personal choice. Some of my friends do, others don't, and each of them has a different reason for choosing the way they did.

I think it's gonna be a fun project. Thumpers are good stuff.
  16. I'm black, German, and Cherokee. So, in the winter I'm Mexican or Puerto Rican, and in the summer I'm either a tan white guy or an Arab. I've actually developed a habit of getting people to guess, for the lulz.
  17. You're probably right, but we'll just find something else to fight about. Humans are resourceful.

Grrrrrr, she's not answering-- probably out mowing the lawn or something. I'll keep at it and hopefully get back to you shortly.
