  1. This is me (in white) - I've been doing BJJ for 3mo now. This is no-gi rolling after the lesson ended. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1FvMgmFSQZA
  2. The end with the engine will go over the rubber wheels... Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk 2
  3. I'll teach your wife to ride... :ky: Oh wait, you mean motorcycles? Yeah, sure. I guess.
  4. Maybe they got one. The buyer wouldn't get notified is a warrant was obtained, would they?
  5. Wheels are too small for the gravel. The hand truck I have has ~8" tires and they are the smallest wheels I can find that don't dig in to the gravel.

    Ouch!

Might as well rub gasoline into it.
  7. 2 things. 1) Gravel 2) The box will start and finish flat, and to use the dolly in a traditional way I would have to lift it up onto one end. 400 lb box is heavier than I can lift from the ground to a vertical position. If it started and finished vertical (like moving a fridge etc) then that would be no problem. But this is more like moving a golf cart, in a box, on dolly.
  8. The largest piece inside the box is the gokart chassis, engine, drivetrain and running gear mostly assembled already. No wheels though, and the coilovers have to be installed. The loose pieces are the roof, fenders, wheels, coilovers and battery. I'd have to take the whole box apart and install the suspension and wheels on the treelawn of a busy 55mph (avg speed is closer to 70mph) road then freewheel the thing back to the workshop, then go back for the 20 lbs of remaining parts. Remembering the truck driver is in a semi and can't drop it into my driveway I'd still have to figure out how to move the nearly 400lb box across a the road onto the I've used the "open the box and carry the parts" technique with flat-pack furniture, but I already know that well over 300lbs of that 385lb box is a single assembly with no wheels installed yet.
  9. You think that's too high? Not like they wear out - it's in as-new condition.

    Ouch!

Ouch. I once burned my forearm on the exhaust of a mower. Same level of burn, looked the same after 2 weeks. I actually used it as a chance to teach my son first aid and he changed the bandages for me.
  11. I just listed my son's Power Wheels Jeep Hurricane on CL. http://columbus.craigslist.org/tag/3069560563.html
  12. It is a surprise. He doesn't know about it.
  13. Got my solution... Made a trailer from my hand truck by adding front wheels and a tow hook to the handle so I can tow it with the lawn tractor. I don't have much turning radius, so I have to remember that. The liftgate of the semi can be lowered down to the level of the "floor" of this new "trailer", then the box can be easily slid onto the trailer. Then I can roll it away from the liftgate, hook it into the tractor and then tow it to the workshop. Not pretty, but it will work fine for this one time.
  14. I like the extended handle on the hand truck. I can extend the handle to 8' already, so if turn the box sideways I'll be carrying about 192lbs. Problem is the box will start off flat and wind up flat - so I don't want to lift it up on one end if I can avoid it. I can look to see if I have something I can use to extend the handle further. Or I could try to attach wheels near the handle of the hand truck and just use it as a flat dolly.
  15. I like the plywood idea. It's coming on a 45' semi - they can't back that down my driveway.
  16. I ordered a big go-kart for my son. It will arrive tuesday morning. I found out from the seller that the go-kart arrives mostly disassembled and in a box that is a little less than 5'x4'x2' and weighs 385lbs. I also called the shipper (UPS Freight) and found they are going to be bringing it on a semi with a liftgate - which means they will drop the thing at the end of my driveway and drive away. I have to get the ~400lb box about 200' from the road to the workshop where I can assemble it. Half of that is loose gravel about 2" deep on top of hard-packed gravel which is like concrete. The other half of the distance is tarmac. Plan A: I originally reserved a u-haul trailer from a location about a mile from me, thinking we could just push the box from the liftgate onto the trailer and I could just drive down the driveway. They just called and said that they won't have a trailer available at my location so I have to drive 45 minutes get the next nearest one, same again to return, and pay for a second day. They were surprised when I cancelled. Plan B: I have a call in to Sunbelt - I can rent from there Tuesday morning and their location is only 10 mins away. They may or may not have one available, will find out tomorrow night (giving me no chance to come up with a plan C unless I plan that now) Plan C: Anything you guys can help me come up with. I have: 4 1000# rated wheel dollies with 3" metal wheels Hand truck with 8" rubber wheels, 400lb rated A few 4x4 posts Plenty of ratchet straps A lawn tractor A couple of trolley jacks engine hoist Motorcycle jack And plenty of other things, like chain, misc hardware and fasteners etc. I guess I *could* just try to use the hand truck. Anyone here ever tried to move 400lbs with a hand truck? I'm not a small guy, 6'2" and over 200lbs. I worry most about setting it back down again - that's a lot of weight liekly to be on my back as I put it down. Maybe I can set up the engine hoist in the workshop so after wheeling the thing into the workshop I can just hook the handle of the hand truck to the raised hook of the hoist and use the hoise to safely lower the box. Plan Z is to use the 4x4 posts and wheel dollies together to make low rolling platform. Then we could slide the go-kart from the liftgate onto the platform, and I could tow the platform with the lawn tractor... Maybe scraping the gravel to the size with a shovel to reveal the concrete-hard layer beneath for easier rolling. The gravel would make it too difficult to push or pull by hand. Any better ideas?
  17. Wheresmydroid is good too. I use prey on my laptops but didn't know it was available on droid too. I like the idea of it taking a pic. Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk 2
  18. You could make the accessories that didn't originally come with the bike separate sale. i.e Bike would be worth $3k with the farkles, or $2k without. So you could sell the bike for $2k, the farkles for $1k. Now of course you are selling them the same person, but the accessories re not taxable. This only applies to accessories that are not factory, and that can be removed without making the bike inoperable or illegal. Backrest, saddlebags, armrests, gps mount etc. Even aftermarket windshield, grips, corbin seats etc can be sold separately if you still have the originals to put back on the bare bike. Don't get greedy. Don't be stupid and sell a $1 bike and $2,999 in accessories.
  19. Ah, I read that wrong. I hope she changes her sig and I hope exarch's ban is perma.
  20. Am I the only one who got freaked out when he saw the title of this thread in the list? I thought it meant he was dead or something...
  21. I'm going to have to put slingingchic on ignore until that sig changes - that makes all threads that she replies to NWS. I'm sure the guys who run the network and firewall at work would love to see the c-word cross the network a few times. And I hope exarch's ban is permanent.
