  1. Might be worth making some quiet inquires about if it is covered if you wreck during a sanctioned drag race or at a test-n-tune. That's one hell of a nice bike to lose to a loophole.
  2. This is what I mean about insurance. Not trying to be mean or get in your shit or anything. I'd hate for someone to be in a wreck and then figure out they're not covered for the accident. I had the same issue when I tracked my DD for a advanced driver training. I worked it out with my insurance and got a list of things I could, and could not do. No racing, no timed events, nothing in which I was in direct competition with another vehicle. As it was driver training they said it was covered, even on the track, as long as all I was doing was undertaking training under the guidance of an instructor. So I was ok lapping in a no-passing mode, but if passing was allowed then my coverage was voided. Nice bike. Good luck with the season.
  3. "and have no insurance..."? Sure, but does any insurance cover a non-street-legal vehicle on a public street? That's a question, not a statement. I really don't know. I know that regular vehicle insurance typically won't cover you in a competitive race on a race track. Your bike, your business.
  4. I don't even know what the first sentence is supposed to mean. Are you saying "You wouldn't say that to my face" or something like that? So the bike that no headlight and no tag - it's not street legal - I can tell that from the pics and video. So that means you were driving without insurance too? Or does your insurance cover non-street-legal vehicles? Mine doesn't. So you just added "uninsured" to "non street legal", "butchering the speed limit", "flooring it in traffic" etc. Please understand I'm not trying to be insulting or say you're a bad person or anything - just pointing out that your ride had all the hallmarks of a squid run. If you got pulled over during one of those fast pulls then you'd have racked up so many tickets you'd probably get suspended.
  5. I can use dialup, satellite or wireless broadband. Tried all 3 and for now I'm on a 2 meg up/down wireless.
  6. Not saying it's not fast, not built or whatever, and I'm not saying he doesn't know how to ride it. Look at what I said: 1) No safety gear 2) Obviously a drag bike being ridden on the street 3) Extremely fast acceleration up to way over the speed limit 4) Extremely fast acceleration in traffic 5) All this on a cold day where traction is questionable and black ice is not unlikley Aren't these behaviors the very definition of a squid? He may be someone you know and he may NOT be a squid in real life - but someone who doesn't know him and only sees him do this on a public street is going to think the same thing. I stand by what I said. YMMV.
  7. I'll be there in the morning.
  8. That thing is longer than a limo. Surprised the guy in the car didn't have to get out and help him spin the bike aorund at each stop sign. So, just how fast did you get up to in that first acceleration? You know, in the 25 zone?
  9. If I saw that on the street the first word out of my mouth would be 'squid'.
  10. Sheesh - don't crash with that in your hand...
  11. This is common in the UK in areas where there are no breakdon lanes (construction zones, tunnels, etc). There are signs "FREE RECOVERY BEGINS" and "FREE RECOVERY ENDS". If you break down you'll be towed for free by the next patrolling tow truck. Dunno if that means the tow to to a garage, or just out of the free recovery zone or off the freeway. In the UK is it absolutely verboten to stop in the breakdown lane unless you are broken down. You'll most likely be seen on the motoroway camera network. Otherwise the next cop that sees you will either stop or radio for someone else to come out to you. You have about an hour to arrange a tow or your car gets impounded. None of this "Put a day-glo sticker on it and give it a week" crap. The Automobile Association (AA - UK's AAA) or Royal Automobile Club (RAC) operates on a 'fix it first' principle whereby the truck they send out will have repair tools and equipment and their first goal is to get you driving again. Towing is a last resort. here, unless it's a flat or a out-of-gas situation you're getting towed. You won't get your radiator flushed and refilled by the side of the road like you will in the UK That happened to us -car overheated, turned out of be a bad air bubble resulting from poorly installed radiator - AA dude took all the hoses off, flushed everything out and refilled/pressure tested it for us - all by the side of the road. Another time we had a wiring fault, coil LT lead shorted on something. ocne the issue was tracked down the AA dud made us a new wire and installed it in the parking lot of a motorway rest stop. Took him an hour to get us rolling again.
  12. ^^ Look at my horse, my horse is amazing...
  13. +1 for BFE. I can sit on my back porch and shoot all day long and nobody cares. My driveway is gravel and there's no sidewalk to shovel. The tradeoff is no DSL or digital cable. So OR is slow.
  14. I don't get nervous when a cop walks into a store that I am in. Not at all. Now, if a cop falls in behind me on the road I tend to think; "Oh, crap, I hope he wasn't watching me 5 minutes ago...."
  15. It must not have been a self defense situation then? Mutual combat? Or was he the agressor?
  16. I see them all. USB thumb drive with lock, Kid listening to computer CD-ROM drive like it's a personal cd player, sniper nest at the superbowl.
  17. Ticket? Well, he did get filmed breaking the law, so I won't lose too much sleep over that one...
  18. Something is going on here... Maybe something as simple as a financial discloure regarding payment of court costs... Or it could be a motion for judicial release... Complete speculation on my part. I'd hate for it be to JR considering he's been locked up for just 2 months.
  19. Figures the rest of those folks would be republicans. (left yourself open for that...)
  20. I realize why it is child endangerment, but I was surprised to see it be a felony. Driving with a child not in a child seat it illegal too, but doesn't seem to be the basis of a felony child endangerment charge. Is there a misdemeanor level of child endangerment? If not then that would explain the leap.
  21. I would imagine them as boobs. Draw nipples on them and ride around looking for something to crash into.
  22. Dunno what I have - was tinted when I bought it. VERY dark. Had interactions with the police a couple times since then but never as a result of me doing something wrong (Called in a burglary report, not-at-fault accidetn etc) and the tint was never questioned.
  23. I thought he was charged with felony child endangerment?
