I believe it was the first gen 650 frame that was the expensive one. But the second gen frames were very well engineered too.

It's nearly impossible to bend an SV frame. It's cast iron at the head and then aluminum for the rest. it will break at the cast/aluminum junction before it'll bend.

There's no end to the customization options for the SV. The best part about the bike is the low buy-in. It leaves a lot of extra cash for fun stuff. Here is the one I had at a couple different stages.

The 1k has better forks than the 650, but they're still the older style non USD kind. Shank, I'll PM you my #.

I've got a good bit of experience with SV's. They are very easy to work on and a lot of parts swap from other bikes. For instance, you could swap a complete front end from a late model gsx-r for better looks and performance. That said, I think that bike is work about 2200 tops. does it have a clean title? Is it the one listed on CL in gahanna? I could help you take a look at it if you need.
