  1. Oh come on now... all that trolling and I can't get you to bite? OK... Barak Obama isn't the official president until we see a birth certificate. Seriously though... I really was joking and I hope you have a good birthday, in spite of my snarky fucktardiness.
  2. Yeah... I take it you got my birthday message. Get some thicker skin for your birthday. I didn't mean anything by it... just joking around Mr. Political.
  3. nOrbertt of Brookpark, I salute you with 1 finger. Only joking of course. Welcome.
  4. I'm not Gary Stephens... I just play him on TV.
  5. Happy Birthday! The world would be a better place with less whining liberals like you, but your parents obviously weren't pro-choice, so we're all fucked. Hope you have a happy day.
  6. lol... that's what I looked like on my CB350. This guy needs a DL650.
  7. Cool. Post up when you know what is going on.
  8. How many miles on the tires? Are you just scrubbing them in? They can be slick for a while. When I slid in a turn this morning, I stood the bike up a little straighter and allowed it to regrip, and then leaned it back into the turn... always seems to work for me. You are big for the bike (about my size- I'm 6'4" and around 250 with gear). Have you cranked the preload up on the suspension? It might be worth a shot.
  9. The 60 will take power if built properly, but we all know that in factory form it isn't built properly. It's basically an electronically controlled 700R4, which was never known to be very strong either. I've seen guys running the 60's behind cars going into the 9's and 10's, but I would definitely look at an 80 instead. The TH400 they are based on was known to easily handle 500 lb. ft. of torque in big cars (like Buicks with 455's and weighing 4500lbs.). My dad's 70 GS runs low 12's on basically a stock 400 with shift kit and 3500 stall converter, and the car weighs 4000lbs with driver. I guess it depends on your budget and know-how, but a 4L80E should be a fairly simple swap to do. I can't imagine that they are using a different PCM for each transmission.
  10. I would SOOOO love to do Deal's Gap. I just don't see it happening this year.
  11. Napa by me can get stuff the same afternoon if you call in the morning. Don't know if there is just a warehouse close by or what, but they've done that a couple times for me. I use their oil filters on my Strom too. BTW, I bought the iridium plugs so I didn't have to change them out as often... something to think about.
  12. That's one you don't see every day! Very different, even if it is bts. GLWTS.
  13. I got mine for my Strom at Napa.
  14. It should... same chevy bellhousing pattern and all. I don't know what you would have to do about controlling it (ECM) and the crossmember, etc. My mom's HD has the 4L80 in it behind a 6.0L. A friends suburban has it behind the diesel. I would think you could find the parts at a junkyard, and the info is probably online somewhere.
  15. I already did... you obviously haven't made it home yet.
  16. Depends on if you want to be the average Joe Rocket boy, or you have good taste
  17. I see signs for free kittens all the time. She could put the chinese restaurants out of business!
  18. Tie a rope around her legs and throw her in. Wait a minute and drag her back up. I'll bet she never does it again!
  19. The other side of 164- East of Amsterdam- is the one that has all kinds of gravel and stuff in the road. The repaved section was nice on Sunday... you can hit that section pretty hard.
  20. Man, how did I miss this ride? I was out there Sunday afternoon. One of the best Roads is 646, heading east from Scio. 164 is pretty fun too. 9 and 43 this time of year are busy busy busy. If you want to try this again next weekend, I'm in. I'll even lead if you want... I do this ride about every other weekend and know some good roads.
  21. It's probably fine. When it happened to me I replaced the tire, but it was a cut in my 1000 mile old tire and I wasn't sure how deep it went... also was somewhat close to the sidewall. I wanted the peace of mind... $160 worth. Considering the amount of cord showing through the rear of my tire I replaced on Saturday, I would say they tend to be not quite as fragile as we think.
  22. I think I would look into a 4L80E for that big of a truck. I can't believe they put the 60's in a suburban! From what I hear, the 80's are almost as bulletproof as the TH400 they're based on.
  23. I agree about overprotecting kids these days. I think a lot of it has to do with lawsuits. My son got in trouble yesterday at his new school on the playground for climbing a tree. I loved his response (he's 5 btw) "but dad, they have awesome trees!". What can you say to that? He has been riding his kawi 50cc dirt bike for over a year now. If he wants to race, he can. If not, no big deal. The one thing he won't be doing is riding on the back of my bike. It's too dangerous and he is too young to understand the consequences of his decisions. How many kids are hurt, killed, or paralyzed playing football? A guy I work with refs high school and college games, and there was one last year where a kid was paralyzed. I didn't hear any calls for ending high school football.
  24. Groundhog on my ST1100. As one guy over on Stromtrooper put it, "my Wee flips the bird". For some reason birds do not know how to get out of the way of the Strom... constantly bouncing off the fairing and windshield.
