    Senate Bill 5

We've been subjected to the constant drone of anti-union rhetoric for many years. At first the target was mainly blue collar workers, but it was only a matter of time until they turned their attention toward those who protect and educate us. How sad that working class Americans subscribe to the premise that the beating down of fellow workers will somehow elevate their status. Enjoy the illusion...they'll be along for you soon.
  2. United States of America vs Loosely Affiliated Countries of North America. Didn't we sort out this states rights thing a while back?
  3. Don't get me wrong, the V7 is a great bike. When you consider the build/component quality and the fact that it is shaft driven, the price isn't out of line either. The reason I mentioned my friends experience (an Italian bike fanatic, btw) is that the allure of form can eventually be overshadowed by deficiency of function. In his case, he wanted a lightweight machine (his only "modern" motorcycle) that would also be suitable for medium/long distance sport touring. As it turns out, he realized that lightweight low hp bikes simply won't work as well at this task as their heftier but more powerful counterparts. In other words, he purchased the wrong bike for his needs...certainly not the V7's fault.
  4. Not much more than a good running GS500. My buddy bought a V7 at the beginning of last year...in Sept he traded it in on a Breva 1100.
  5. I cut my teeth on a Commodore VIC 20 (w/"Datasette") in 1981. Those early machines seem pretty lame now but I learned a quite a bit fooling around with them.
  6. Too bad they couldn't be a little more compassionate towards someone who's obviously come to a rough spot on lifes road. Kinda resembles the Nick Nolte mugshot. Oh well, he pulled through and went back to work. I suspect she could too. Sometimes bad press is better than no press.
  7. Other VB forums I'm on simply put these topics in user groups. You have to enable them (join) for them to appear. As for the OP, before you get riled to the point of resorting to personal attacks, try this:
  8. Is it my imagination, or is GB turning into a televangelist? Not a bad plan. All the deviant sex you can handle and the pay is awesome!
  9. Quality issues had nothing to do with it. The economy tanked and they sucked the remaining jobs back to the motherland or outsourced them to other cheaper pacific rim suppliers. Some would say that it's absence here caused the migration of jobs.
  10. needs a stake thru the heart...I got it
  11. Scuffs as in fine scratches in the clearcoat that could probably be removed with some elbow grease.
  12. The price is definitely negotiable and I have swag to sweeten the pot.
  13. $3000 I bought the bike new in Nov. of '06 and the present mileage is 9400. It has been regularly maintenanced and needs nothing except ridden. Other than a few scuffs and small nicks it is in very good cosmetic condition. Both original keys are included and a new OEM battery was installed in May. The seat height is 31.5". I can include a set of lowering links w/modded sidestand if needed. The bike is pretty much stock except for a few mods: -OEM rear fender eliminator* -OEM touring windscreen* (a couple of inches taller) -Frame sliders (protects the radiator and other components in a moving or stationary mishap) -1" lowered footpegs* (Buell) -16 tooth engine sprocket* (stock is a 15 tooth) -Front fender extension -Clear turn signal lenses* -Power outlet (fused, concealed in fairing and robust enough to handle a small compressor, heated gear, etc.) -Michelin Pilot Power tires -Silverstar Ultra headlamp bulbs *Stock takeoffs included in sale http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r247/gearman22/SV/DSCN0653.jpg http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r247/gearman22/SV/DSCN0647.jpg http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r247/gearman22/SV/DSCN0644.jpg http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r247/gearman22/SV/DSCN0642.jpg
  14. When HD bought MV they were in serious financial trouble. I remember looking at the details and wondering why HD would fork out 100+ million dollars for such a train wreck. They were carrying a huge debt load and the wolves were at the door. Those wolves wanted their $ and wouldn't have hesitated to dismantle the "crown jewel of the Italian motorcycle industry" to recover pennies on the dollar. It's possible that HD saved them from a second extinction.
  15. There's a ride brewing in your neck of the woods later this morning. I'm headin that way in an hour or so. http://www.rideohio.org/showpost.php?p=148376&postcount=39
  16. Here's an interesting addition (approx. 48 miles) to the posted route
  17. Me thinks the thread title is a little melodramatic. If your idea of record keeping is throwing everything in shoeboxes and stroking out at tax time then I suppose this could drive you over the edge. Businesses with proper accounting systems in place will hardly notice.
  18. Would have been nice if they had actual motorcyclists set this up. Oh well, at least they're trying.
