  1. I am looking at getting a Walther P22 or P22Q. Walther's site does not really indicate the difference. The Walther forums say just cosmetic differences with the same internals. Does anyone know or have a P22? Thoughts? I figure it is the same form / style as a PPQ and would be a decent trainer / range pistol.

  2. Just an FYI for people in the NEOhio area, top gun supply in chesterland has pmag 20rd for $20 ea. limit 2 per person and they won't sell over Internet or phone, only in store. That place is probably the nicest, most well laid out gun store I've been in, btw

Looks like a road trip after work for me, thanks!!

  3. Great thing to do there - politicize mental health practitioners, and compel them to determine who could maybe be a threat. Oh, and do you ever get off the list? It's a great message to send to society - once a sicko always a sicko.

Who wouldn't want to clam the fuck up when speaking to ANYONE in that field knowing your civil rights were about to get stripped?

Further, what protects doctors and therapists from lawsuit such as the one brought today against Holmes psychiatrist? It's going to make people report "threats" that aren't there to be on the safe side.

Need a gun? Well, that makes you paranoid and you're mentally deficient.

This is the building blocks of some scary fucking shit. It's not scary yet, it's the underpinnings of it, the mechanism by which a society starts to criminalize everything and everyone.

If you're not terrified of the ramifications, you're a fucking dumbass with no history books.

Way back on post #27, I think we are on the same side.

I do not want to be the person that decides what person is branded "as a mental health risk".

  4. universal background checks maybe, depends how it is done, where, what is the fee?

the 10 round cap limit, is this just for rifles,or all firearms? What about the pistols such as Glocks and other that can hold 15 -17? DOes this include police and other peace keeping forces?

As for what passed in New York, not many semi-auto pistols holds less then 10. ( not including 1911's). So now, all manufactures need to make 7 round "new york legal" magazines?

Not sure how to link background checks to mental health database. How does a person get added or removed to this list?

  5. Barely on topic, but I have given up looking for extra magazines for a 9mmWalther PPQ. I have seen prices for 15 rounds range 60 - 75 and the " I really really " want 17 rounds over $75, when they show up on Armslist and gun broker. Non-factory magazines are out of stock at every major, and a few not so well know on-line stores. I am sad and weepy that I did not buy any of those Glock magazines from the BallisticReload site a few months back.

  6. I hope this does not pass as written. 7 round max? If it does pass, time to start making extra thick magazine plugs or "thicker" followers for a drop in solution. And then next step, start tolling New York Criagslist for magazines for sale.

  7. I just had a discussion with a friend who mentioned required training prior to purchase. If this is the case, who makes the rules for what is covered in this class? How long is the training?

The issue I have, while training is a good idea, I do not think it should be "required" for the " right to bear arms."

Some owners may take training on thier own and spend time at a range to improve skills. Depends on the person and how serious they take ownership.

  8. I was in Streetsboro and just noticed a new firearm shop called Buckeye Firearms, near route 14 and route 43. The had a DPMS for $2400 on the wall. Not sure of all "tacti-cool" mounted on it, but it is there for the buying. The shop closed at 5, and we arrived there at 4:45. Walked around and had a large selection of pistols on display. Not sure what they actually had in stock.
