  2. I do agree if it is a straw purchase, the "purchaser" should also be an accessory.

    From the article:

    <<

The convicted felon who ambushed firefighters on Christmas Eve, killing two, couldn't legally buy the guns he used but he picked out the semiautomatic rifle and shotgun and was in the sporting goods store with a neighbor's daughter when she bought them for him, police said Friday

  3. After dinner with the family, I stopped at the Gander Mountain right next door. ZERO ammo in .223. There was a few boxes of the Bear branded ( not sure if it was Silver or Brown) 7.62 x 39 ammo on the shelf.

Most of the remaining mags on the rack were 10 rounders for various .22LR rifles and pistols. Three mags were the 30 round for a Remington 597 for $29.00

There was about 15 boxes of 100 round Winchester white box 9mm ammo for $39.00.

In the used gun case, there was a beat up looking Tauras model 82 revolver for $199.

  4. If I had deeper pockets, I would have more watches. I like the look of the 3 dial watches, Omega Speedmaster, breitling navitimer and the Bentley GT.

A few years ago, in Vegas, one store had a used omega speedmaster schumacher edition with carbon fiber face and bezel for $3500. I don't have a buget for a watch over 1K, but they are sweet to look at.

I can only imagine the skill and detail involved to design and assemble a high end watch.

  5. This was a rough year for me with my Dad passing away in June, and my wife's Grandfather also passed. But, I learned what great friends and family I do have. I am thankful for a great job that affords me to travel and do cool stuff when not at work.

I am looking forward to dinner with my Mom and family later today.

This May, 2013, I will celebrate 20 years of marriage.

I hope the best for everyone this upcoming year.

  6. Spent the morning ( about 2 hours anyways) fixing the father-in-laws 1997 Astro van. The oil cooler line became disconnected at the the radiator while driving. Only about 2 houses down from home. I got a replacement clip to secure the line into the radiator. Topped off the oil and let it run for about 20 minutes. No leaks. Either the clip rusted or lost tension and fell out, or the aluminum line flare is undersized and needs replaced. Big fun laying in the snow, fixing a vehicle.

  7. I might try the walmart in the hood, Bedford (near the Maple Hts side) or Steel Yard Commons( maybe).

I went the other route. I went to Walmart in Aurora, a semi-upscale area thinking the shoppers there don't hunt or have guns. Then, I went to Streetsboro, not to bad of an area, but very rural. I figured there, ammo would be a good stocking-stuffer gift and thought there would be plenty of selection. The only 9mm there was blue and silver box of a brand called PPU for $9 per 50. I don't know if it was brass or aluminum cases. Streetsboro has a selection of black powder stuff, but not the rifles.

  8. The one issue I noticed the last few days most of the stores I visited over the last week, did not have .223 ammo, or anything related to reloading .233 ( brass, dies).

Possibly would have to order ammo on-line?

I am just now learning about AR's, so if you were going to use the cash from the scope for an AR anyways, might not be a bad deal.

I am sure if you post a pic of the to be traded AR, or at least the brand / options, the smarter people could advise.
