    cheap AR advice

Thank you. Dale has been great answering questions. There are a few other platforms I would like to get eventually, such as a 1911, AK47, really nice .308 bolt action rifle. Just takes time and money on my end.

    cheap AR advice

Pick a Saturday and host an "AR basics" day to go over what the differences in AR brands parts could be. Then, of course, most in attendance would purchase parts though the shop. Then, the second gathering would be "assembly day"? I would travel down for this, just have to save up cash to buy the rest of the parts.
  3. I will install a deer crossing sign about 15 yards from my deer stand and see how that works. If that works out well for me, I will install turkey and squirrel crossing signs as needed.
  4. So now Gen3 might have a tablemate at the IMS after party if we still have it at Buddy's
  5. Is this close to the longest intro thread yet? Oh, BTW, welcome to Ohio Riders.
  6. Take that on a ride though Ker-shock-ton. Not sure about the new bike, kinda looks cool, like the Reliant Robin, with 1/3 less tires. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQh56geU0X8
  7. Dale, I will call you later today. I will be in your area next week.
  8. Sweet Shotgun. I would still use it, but only on nice days. It could be your "Sunday" gun. I have 2 Ducks Unlimited shotguns, but not that nice. One is an 887 used for turkey hunting, and then a Stoger Condor for clays. Purchased from a guy who won them in a raffle.

You are Larry the Cable guy, how do you not have cable?
  10. Last time in Sedona,AZ, the wife and I rented a Harley (full size goldwing clone) from Eagleriders. The plan was to make it towards the Grand Canyon area. The rental place provided a map. We made it to Jerome, Happy Jack, and then to Flagstaff. Due to my awesome map reading skills, we turn more east then north leaving Flagstaff. Ended up in Winslow, AZ. Managed to get a picture of the statue of the guy "Standing on a corner in Winslow,Az" from the 70's song 'Take it Easy". After we looked at the map again, and the time, it would be close to the time to return the Harley in the same day without getting charged for the next day. Hightailed west on rte 40. The hardest part was dealing with the strong cross winds. I had the bike wide open, but was still being passed by semi-trucks. Ended up riding 89A south, back into Sedona to return the Harley. It was tricky controlling the speed and brakes on that final down hill, switchback filled road leading into Sedona.
  11. Looks fun. Probably can not compare the race lines in car to the lines on a bike?
  12. Not too high end, but a place called B-spot off Chagin road. Mike Symon's resturant ( he is one of those food channel chef's) about $10 for burger. Or Brio for Italian, located in the same plaza of chagrin road.
  13. I purchased 2 Napa Lengend batteries for my cars that I plan to keep for as long as i can.
  14. I would think a young rider on a Busa will paying a boatload for insurance. Young riders, plus the word "sport" anything ( car, bike) hopefully will realize it is expensive to insure. Will he have money left for riding gear? See if you can point out to start out smaller, and then after some experience riding, ( either seasons riding or mileage? not sure) then he can move up the motorcycle food chain.
  15. Other then that long flight, that sounds like the way to travel. I don't like the 4 hour west coast flights, but with the I-pod and 2 movies, passes the time.
  16. Now that my department has TRMN8TR, I don't travel much anymore. And since I now support a non-production product, my work trips are planned as much as a week in advance. Some times while traveling for work, there time to sight-see, but normally not. Usually fly to someplace, visit the customer, back to hotel and then fly back home next morning. All my travels have been within the US. The farthest has been Los Angeles. Most boring trip, Mountain Home, Idaho. Not much going on there. Second boring trip, Assumption, IL. No hotel there, only food place was pizza shop inside the Casey General store and gas station. One trip that I was able to have to sight-see was Ogden Utah, went to the Browning firearms muesem. Warmest trip, outside of New Orleans, temp was 95 degrees with 90 degree humidity in the plant.
  17. I was not aware that armslist had videos. I am sure this is a re-post but, Eyehandy.com has a video of how to clean a Glock: http://www.eyehandy.com/weapons/how-to-field-strip-and-clean-a-glock-with-ashley/
  18. I am in Dallas, Tx for a work trip. This evening I was able to go to the high end part of town called Highland Park Village. I stopped by the Beretta Galley. http://www.dallas.berettagallery.com I think I now like the Beretta 92 FS over a Browning Hi Power. I also think I like the Beretta Nano over the Ruger LC9. The Nano fits my hand better since the grip feels wider then the Ruger LC9. The 92FS has a neat looking exposed barrel. And super simple take down for field cleaning. Oh, and I was able to hold a few Sako and Tikka rifles too. The highlight of the visit was a $42,500 pair of Jubilee shotguns, with incredible engraving. That is all. Feedback from any Nano or 92FS owners please.
  19. I took our rental Jeep on Parson's. I was cringing as the branches were scrapping the side of the jeep. The scratches were not too bad, and I did not get charged when i returned the rental.
  20. I might have to try this Kydex to make a holster for a CZ-82. The TV show Guns and Gear showed a kit you can buy that contained all the clips, belt loop stuff and the screws / rivets. They even showed if you made a mistake, you could re-heat the kydex and start over.
  21. Next Saturday will be spent removing the A/C evap out of the wife's 2002 Durango. Step one reads = Remove dashboard. FML...
