  1. Hmmm. I was going to buy a PMR30 at Woodbury tomorrow but this is tempting.

Nothing to add on the original thread, but if you get a chance to buy the PMR30, jump on it. I hear they are hard to find due to Kel-Tec not able to keep up with demand. I got to fire one, very cool and fun to shoot. Large flameball out of the end of the barrel.

  2. Pics of the casings!

is one side crushed flat? If so I know the problem and if it is doing it there is one fix for it and it is not what you already had done.

I did not save any casings, but they were not flat. If i remember correctly, there was a slight mark near the lip on the rim, on the one side, I assume from the extractor?

  3. I cant trust it to go bang every time. I thought the issue was resolved after the replacement extractor. So now, either I take it to another person to make it right, or leave it in the safe. I was planning on possibly trading it off and wanted to have one last round with it before the Glock arrives. If it ain't right, I dont want to screwover the next buyer.

  4. Looking for some input.

    I have an FEG PKJ-9HP 9MM ( Think Browning Hi-power form factor).

I bought this gun used. Had issues when I first bought it with the spent round partially extracted from barrel, but the next fresh round will jam against the partially extracted case. It would not jam after every shot, but at least after 3 shots.

I have a friend with a properly functioning Browning Hi-power ( the parts interchange)and I was able to try his mags, barrel and recoil spring in my FEG. Still same result. I tried different brands of 9MM ammo. I throughly cleaned the gun, took the slide apart and cleaned some crude from the extractor spring area. I thought the crude was the cause.

Gun still only partially extracted the spent casing.

Since I figured i needed a new extractor and spring and was not sure exactly sure how to "fit" the extractor, I ended up taking the gun to a gunsmith, who replaced the extractor, extractor spring and put a "relief" cut in the end of the barrel. ( that pissed me off but he said he does this to all his 1911's). The gun functioned properly when I picked up the gun, I was able to fire 28 rounds without an issue. So I was feeling good at spending $75 for parts and labor. Cleaned gun and put into safe.

Today was the first time I was able to take the gun to the range since I picked it up from gunsmith, about 2 months ago. After the third shot, gun is back to partially extracting spent rounds.

I did not have a camera with me at the range, but i was able to almost recreate what was happening and take pictures at home. And now, inside the slide, I am noticing some scrape marks that i did not notice before.

So, either the extractor and or spring still needs some attention, or maybe a weak recoil spring, now that the extractor is belived to be functioning properly?

  5. It does kinda make you wonder how and why events occur the way they occur. The last few years on Father's Day, my father and I have stuff that was just the 2 of us. One year we went on an all day motorcycle ride and another year we went to A and A target range. This year dad wanted to go to Presque Isle casino. I am not much into gamble, but I have on occasion. I figured it would be of a fun day to hang out and talk during the car ride. Well, dad ended up winning almost $500. I still bought him dinner at Quaker Steak and Lube in Erie.

So maybe, in a wierd way, it was karma "allowing the win" since dad got to chose how to spend the day.

  6. Looks good, but dang only one hour in and you got a hit.

I am starting a bit smaller, trying for a fall turkey. No luck Staurday on my first attempt this year. I went zero for 5 attempts last fall. Next go round, I'll try for turkey in the spring when they are more active.
