Depending on your riding style Id go with some razr 2's or maybe the new 6 ply holeshots. I dont really care for holeshots becuase they didnt grip worth shit on the banshee. These are somewhat pricey so if you want to go cheap subscribe to dennis kirk and they will send you emails about special clearance deals and sometimes they will have closeouts and offer a tire for 20$. Trips to wayne and perry arent very expensive you pay for your state sticker once a year and then you can get a daily ride permit for wayne at $5 a day, or $25 a year. Other than that everything is just a little fuel. Paul if you wanna go down to wayne I might be able to get a trailer together and we can leave marysville at the same time that way we only have to take one vehicle. Hopefully my truck will be put back together within the next week or so, and I can pull one. -

well right now I only have stock tires I didnt want to buy tires untill I return in the fall, but I was counting on it being muddy and cold. -

If I do get new shocks it will be long time down the road. Im gonna pay this off by christmas time or next spring And Im gonna buy a raptor 700 and a couple of supercharged sea doos with my money from active duty. I will be 95% debt free and its gonna stay that way. But after there is no payments I will just throw money at modding all of them. I already have a deal going through right now for exhaust and intake for the 450 but wont have them installed untill probably the following week, and I already have nerfs and a bumper. Im gonna put some money towards some new riding clothes and other accesories right now. So It will be awhile before I get new a-arms and shocks. -

I leave in less than six weeks for 5 months of active duty and I havent had any good ride time on the 450. Wayne is opening tomorow and perry is already open, along with other places. Curently all my riding buddies are broken or busy, and riding at wayne alone would not be fun. I was wondering if anyone wanted to get a small trip together soon. Shit Ill go as soon as monday. I have Sun-Tuesdays off and can go anytime.

The kit should come with a cam card that explains everything about the cam. It should also state where the cam likes to be set. Depending on its size alot of the ones from kits usually seem to want to be set at 2-4 degrees advanced I believe. I could be wrong but the cam card will explain. You could always just line up the dots and it will probably run but not half as well as it would in spec.

I have bought a lot of stuff online from businesses and also privately but I always use paypal. I got a good deal on an exhaust and intake for my yfz450 but the guy says he can not take paypal but can take a money order and gave me his address. I am nervous about just sending this much money halfway around the east coast. My paypal is supposed to guarantee my money when I send it but what guarantee will I have with a money order? He seems legit and has been around this forum for awhile but I just wanted to see what some other people thought before I did it. Regardless of how good of a deal it is looking it wont be any kind of deal when I get nothing in return.

you can find a dial indicator for around 25$ with a magnetic base. Its gonna work just as well as my 180$ snap on. Plus if you drop it, its only $25. Look at harbor freight. Anyways you dont need one to test pinion depth, you need one to check for lash.

I can change a pump in the LT1 in twenty minutes. But I think thats because there is a big hole in the floor to get to it easily.

I can ride bikes fine but never been able to do a twist on a quad. I dont understand it.

it starts out though but stay on easy level and about 3/4 of the way through you should be able to start with medium

bfg's! I have not had the KDWs but do know plenty of people with them and they are great tires, not to mention that every other tire they make are great tires also.

yeah it has had the valves adjusted once years ago but doesnt sound like they need it.

I have a 2000 ttr 225 Ive had since 2000 and all of the sudden it started to run really bad and hard to start with high idling, so I took the carb out and completely dissasembled it and cleaned it. I just got it all back together and and I still have to use starting fluid to start it when cold. But once its warm or sits for an hour it will start no problem. The choke doesnt seam to be working at all and seems to want to start better without the choke on. Once it is running every once in a while when you want to give it a lot of throttle it boggs down but will pick back up. The real problem is that if it performs better at 3/4 throttle than full throttle. At the top of each gear or under full throttle it cuts out, backfires, and sounds like its detenating. If you just ease up on the throttle a bit it takes off but still only has so much power and is really annoying to try to ride quickly. I dont know if it is still the carb, it kind of feals like an ignition issue.

well the key reason that I thought someone might be able to throw a little help at it was that it would only do it in the first couple mins of me driving and then it would go away and all be good. If it was an intake gasket or fuel pump other things of the sort it would do it constantly. Thats why I was leaning towards o2's maybe a map sensor, something computer related.

Thanks gearhead I was just hoping for some ideas or to see if anyone had any past experience with this, Id like to fix it myself. Plus now if you start it and let it run for about 3 or 4 mins just idleing it will start cutting out and missing and it boggs down so much that I looked at the tach and it was at 0 rpms but the truck was still just barely running.

The girlfriend has a 97 dodge ram that just started missing and more importantly everytime you drive it when it has sat for an hour or two it will start bogging, bucking and backfiring at around 30 or so for about 5 seconds and then all will be normal untill it sits for a bit. Im thinking it might be o2 sensors and im going to take a look at them today but was wondering if anyone had experience with maybe ignition parts going bad. Or has any other ideas what it could be. Also no check engine light has came on.

Ive seen a few posts recently of some parks in the state and was wondering if anyone knew of some that are more local. The fields around me are just too muddy and I dont want to tear them up but Ive been trying to teach the woman to ride. She can ride a straight line and can shift and turn around. I want to ride and also get her to ride in an area with some more obstacles and terrain that is also not very busy.

Ive heard 440 ex's like to overheat and shut down after about 3 hrs of riding. I rode the 450 today very little and its fast and has gobs of torque but after getting to stretch its legs I know my banshee was a bit faster. Not comparable out of the whole but in the long run it was. I definately miss the six speed though. It feels like this thing should have one more gear but it never stops pulling.

Ryan once I get some ride time on this bitch Id be up for runnin it. Im not in a huge rush to start modding it yet but will be getting some other accesories first this weekend like skid plates, nerf bars, extra handle bars, and maybe a bumper. What is done to yours? I had the intention this weekend in buying a 400ex with full bolt ons, a-arms, axle, and the works for $2,500 but I stopped into Ask brice rd. and they had this. I have been buying from them for 10 years and as always they hooked me up.

From everyone I know if you want a serious trail ride, visit Hatfield Mccoy. It seems like everyone has been but me, and they all say that it puts Wayne and Daniel Boone to shame.

I know about valve adjustments as with any four stroke, but more important on race quads. The bad thing is that instead of just pulling the tank and some rocker caps off to adjust valves like on an older race quad I believe you have to pull the cams out on these.
