Awesome bike! Great motor as long as it never ran on its side. Had a ZRX which has the same motor, gobs of torque and still pulls up top. The ZZR has better cams and a 6th gear which makes it an even better motor. GLWS

Lets ride down to IP next weekend and do some Yamaha test rides. I am interested in the FJ-09 and FJR as a replacement for the FZ1. Sorry for thread jack...

The Ninja 1000 is not the superbike (ZX10R), it's a gentlemans sport street bike with normal ergonomics and a fantastic motor. Think modern FZ1 with hard bags. @jschaf has the same bike.

I think ABS and FI is a minimum standard with TC as a would be nice want. Gen 1 is nice, I have one, but they are starting to become a dinosaur.

Can the big VFR still be had new in the US? Have heard from many people that the 1200 motor may be the best street motor ever.

EK Going to assume an x-ring failed and now the chain has a kink.

Bought a chain from RD last August and it failed less than a year from installation. I am very anal about cleaning and living chains and have never had one fail before 15k-20k. Clearly the chain has a defect which has nothing to do with RD, but Michael very quickly (like within 15 minutes of initial email) had customer support call, setup a prepaid return to the manufacturer and get a new chain coming no charge! This is as good as it gets with after sales support! You just gained a lifetime customer.

Nice bike! Think Suzuki did a good job with this bike...better looking and better performance compared to the FZ line. The FZ10 may change the performance side though.

If we are on the road at 8:30 then we will be in New Concord by 9:30 at our normal pace. 10:45 at 377 and 11:30 at 550. 550 to Marietta will be under an hour. All times are +/- 15 minutes depending on pace and traffic.
